Another Nats fan here. Yeah Scherzer playing for the Mets doesn't sit well with me. I hate when players I liked when they were Nationals move to a division Rival. Yeah yeah it is all part of the game but I don't have to like that fact.

Yeah Baez takes some ugly swings..
He's still a good defender at a premium position though so there's that

Oh yeah, forgot about Ray signing with the Mariners. We'll se what the Cy Young award winner can do for them.
I agree with everybody that it is surprising Correa has not signed yet.
Trevor Story is also yet to sign.

Cubs got into it before the lockout. Stroman and Gomes. Stroman will be solid and Gomes is either a great backup or sets them up to trade Contreras. Good moves, both.
As to other comments. I'm a born Cubs fan who's lived in D.C. for years. Sad to see Scherzer to Mets, but I won't begrudge him. I hope he does great.
Oh Javy. Love/hate relationship. In the end way too many strikeouts and errors more than offset the brilliant base running and power and flashes of fielding excellence. Good luck, Detroit fans. Prepare to gasp a lot and wince a lot.
I hope the labor dispute ends soon enough for spring training.

As a lifelong Cubs fan also. I like the Stroman signing that signals that have not completly given up on this year like the second half of last year.
As for Baez, he is the most aggressive baserunner I have ever seen and it pays off for him the vast majority of the time. He also makes some slick plays on the field but is not reliable enough on the routine play lately. Even when he was in the conversation for MVP a few years back, I don't know how with all this technology and advanced scouting that he ever gets a hit. I am a former pitcher and can't believe anyone ever throws him a strike. All the opposing picther needs to do is mix up fastballs at the eyes and breaking balls off the plate or in the dirt to get him out every time. He has shown that he is unwilling to take a walk. All of that being said, I like and PC him and hope that scouts continue to not figure that out for his and the tigers sake.

As a cardinals fan, it is good to see cubs trying again...and I would like to see Lester come back to cardinals as depth starter if the young relievers that are being given chance to start do not pan out.

Same.
I think it'd be neat if Lester managed to turn back the clock a few years and dominate the way he used to.
