We remember the lives they gave.

To Canada's greatest ally, thanks to all of you and your families who served alongside our own. May we and the generations after us never forget.

Thumbs up to you guys. Not just another long weekend. Nor is it about those that served (no offense to my fellow veterans. It is about those that died.

As far as I am concerned, this is for all lives, not only lives lost in war, but training accidents also. One of the saddest days I've ever had is when we found out that one of our Chinooks went down over Ft. Hood and everyone aboard was killed. They paid the ultimate sacrifice for what should have been a normal training exercise.

Grateful to those who served and paid the biggest price. Thank you.
(Also grateful to those who have served and are currently serving - but that's not what today is for.) Thank you.

Thank you for those who have served and passed, you are the true heroes. It's hard to imagine that people didn't make it to my age of 23 so I could make it to 23.

To my best friend and fellow Marine, Jeff; I still miss you buddy, and I'm sure I always will. This day is for you and all others who paid the ultimate price so the rest of us could continue to live in the 'land of the free'. Semper Fi my friend.

This day is always painful to me as I have lost so many friends, brothers in arms and miss them so much. I remember the last chats we had before they all left our presence, but not our hearts and minds. I remember the sadness I felt by the looks of your families as we returned and you were no longer in our ranks, too many times. I understand the feeling of surviors guilt and wondering what I could've done to change things. Too many gone too young too soon. I wish all those who lost someone close remember them and know they were loved by others as well.
