My son and I both work at the same place where we produce cheese so we are considered essential. I feel lucky because we are open for business and I can work from home most of the time. For me nothing has changed from what I have been doing for the past 1-2 weeks which is staying home as much as possible.

my wife is sherriff deputy here and they recieved the official list of who is considered "essential" in case they stop anyone, etc.. the list of essentials is very long.. i couldn't believe it when i saw it, i was thinking, "well, who the heck is staying home then?" in short, businesses like Hair / Nair Saloons, only bars, and some dept stores, virtually everything else can remain open. The big thing is for the individual having the necessity to be out and about interacting at an establish. For example, you can go out for walk , go to the park, but you can't have a BBQ with a bunch of friends out in public. Basically the common sense thing about staying away from people. the whole thing is just wierd here they way some are handling it

My take on our stay at home order is that it really hasn't changed what 99% of us have been practicing already the past week or two. I think this just gives a more clear authority for our local law enforcement to confront somebosy and say hey, you have been seeing driving around time 6 different times today, you aren't trying to stay at home. Understand my perspective is from our small town of 500 people.

yeh, it def a lot easier to mange when you're in a small town compared to here, where the population is over 1mil, plus the thousands of tourist that are here, not to mention the absorbant amount of idiots, There's still a lot of traffic, but not nearly as much on a normal day

A few days ago are governor finally got on the quarantine bus for the state even though most people were already doing it. Yesterday the first death was announced in the state but the man was in his late 70's and also had many health problems all his life. I was thinking about this. Every few centuries a disease comes along and thins the herd. If any of you have ever worked on a farm odds are you have seen it happen there as I have. But with all the leaps medical science has made in the last 100 years, we have really have been kicking it. This old guy that died was never thought by his doctors to be able to live as long as he did. This shows us how good we are in medical science. But have always known that one day a germ or virus would mutate and get the upper hand and then we kick its ass.
Everyone should read this. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/nobel-prize-winner-shares-some-good-news-about-the-coronavirus-pandemic-2020-03-23
also John Hopkins has a webpage you can zoom in on the map and click the red dot on the map to see how many cases are in your county IF there is no red dote then none have been reported you can check your state. Click the USA on the right then under the list click on Admin2 and or Admit3. The recovered numbers are low right now. but will go up in the US, we're just late to the party. China, where it started, is already showing a leveling off and look at the recover numbers they are high, but the news media will never tell you that. they are in the business of selling gloom & doom and truth is not something they excel at. Plus people that get it and recover are now immune. Antibody's, the greatest little army we have.

The good news is the post offices will not close. So happy trading everyone. Hit me up I've been adding and fixing my want and extras lists and getting close to being done.

RJ thanks for that awesome POV peice from some guy I have never heard of before. To me its sounds a bit biased almost like a certain person was a skeptic. These are the news articles that tend to find the floor in my house. One thing in the article that was accurate was about the anti-vax people, I hope all the anti-vaxers out there get refused the shot when it finally comes out. I'll stick with the CDC and the WHO on this one. Sadly your past posts have left me with a feeling that I may not be trading with you any time soon, just sayin.

I got my 3rd "essential business form" this afternoon. I completely forgot that the packaging mill has contracts with the Dept. of Defense and UPS, along with the healthcare industry and other essential businesses. They are considered essential in the supply line by the federal government with a direct link to the DOD. So I will certainly continue to work no less than 36 hours per week during all these "stay-at-home orders" and any possible lock-downs. I already did most of the stuff now-considered to be social distancing long before this virus happened as it's part of my job-awareness. I do wear more PPE at work now and I don't shake hands with anyone or contact them in any way. I also stand a bit farther away when talking to someone face-to-face. Otherwise, it's mostly the same as my life before COVID came along.
All this "essential business" stuff does make me feel really bad for all the people that are out of work right now. The governments (from federal down to townships) are basically telling them they are not needed to keep the country running. Also, how long can some people go without getting their hair cut or go without getting their grass mowed (if they can't physically do it themselves)?
