Thought one: I was rooting for the Raptors so I’m glad they won.
Thought two: The Raptors have won an NBA title before the Suns, and we’ll probably never make the playoffs again.

The Warriors currently have 4 of my 5 favorite active players, so I couldn't root against them. But I've been a Raptors fan since I got into the sport...I feel a sort of kinship because we came into the NBA the same year. So, I'm happy the Raptors got to be champions, I just wish DeMar DeRozan could have been a part of it. Ujiri did him wrong. (Gave him a speech about how he's part of the team and would never be traded, while actively putting together the Kawhi Leonard trade on his phone at the same time!). But I'm still glad to see them champions.
Interestingly, both the NBA and NHL crowned a first time champion this year. That doesn't happen all that often, but I'm not yet fully cognizant of when NHL teams won championships, and while I could look it up, I'm much more interested in pondering if my first sport, NASCAR, will also have a first time champion this year. It happened last year, but it would be really cool to have it all in one. Although the NHL and NBA seasons both started before the 2018 NASCAR season ended...

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I don't know the rules about swearing on these forums, so I'll just say I'm pretty gosh-darned pumped right now!! I was a bit young to appreciate fully the impact of the Jays' World Series wins, so this is the biggest high for me as a sportsfan.
I'm still in shock, can't wait to go to the parade, and I hope this isn't some cruel dream I'm in the middle of.

A great game, a great series, and a great team. Biggest Toronto championship since 1993. As much as that memory is a great one from my childhood, hopefully the same is true for my son (8), who made it through all of game 5, and in game 6 slept through the third quarter, but got to see the end of the game. Wanted to make sure he got to see the first with how histroic it is - and you never know when the next one will come around (the Leafs have taught many fans THAT lesson).
The parade is set for Monday and will end at Nathan Phillips Square (a 10 minute walk from my work). Wonder how many people will be going for a wee bit of an extended lunch on Monday.....

I was curious about this too Billy, two first-time champions. Unless I messed up it last happened in 2006, with the Carolina Hurricanes and Miami Heat.
