Sorry to shatter all illusions, albeit, I do know a good deal about baseball, I'm simply better working with Baseball Reference and playing anything "by the rules". The idea is obscure, I can go obscure. I was really shocked though, how "obscure" the 100+ rbi season/all-star combo player I chose was - as I wasn't expecting him to be all that obscure.

I'll look up someone on baseball-reference as a verification, but I'll use that player as my guess instead of trying to keep finding a lower score. I got a 6 today which is my best.

Yeah, I was shocked when I used an obvious Hall of Famer for a particular stat (that he is the all-time leader in!) was only a 1% guess... guess the majority of people that play tend to think recent...

I guess it's inevitable given how the scoring works, but I find it weird/interesting that my score changes throughout the day. When I filled out grid 108 early this morning, I scored 183. Now my score is 175. Obviously not a huge swing, but interesting to think about when comparing scores.

Been working on them for about a week. It helps to have been alive in the 60s and collected cards from the 50s. My rarity score today was 4.

Just bailed on today's IG when I blew it on the Padres/200K Season question. I didn't think too much about it, and since I collect Dave Winfield, I'm somewhat familiar with 1970s Padres due to all the oddball sets I've scoured. Obviously Randy Jones would be a valid choice, being their main ace in the 70s. WRONG!
Holy crap, the man won a Cy Young in 1976, racked up 25 complete games, threw 315.1 innings and only struck out 93 batters! Turns out Jones is the only non-reliever to win a Cy Young with fewer than 100Ks. Next fewest was Pete Vuckovich in 1982 with 105. Jones' career wasn't long, but his career high was only 124Ks.

Something that still erks me about the rules:
Houston Astro and WS champion. I picked Mike Fiers, the guy who blew the whistle on the sign-stealing. He got a ring, but is not credited as WS champion because he wasn't carried on the playoff roster.
