I honestly think this scenario was a bit odd. I know NASCAR has a slightly different set of rules for pre-race and post-race (who knows why) but I know there is a discrepancy of about 1/4" inch on certain parts. Don't know if that is what happened here or not, but seems very odd that both the 1st 2 cars were DQ'ed for some sort of aerodynamic issue in post-race while the other teammates were deemed clean and meanwhile giving Chase Elliott an even bigger lead in the hunt for the Regular Season title and those extra points for the playoffs. As for the Ross Chastain issue, I know he accepted that this was coming to him, but don't know if it changes his opinion after Hamlin's DQ. It would probably change mine a little. I guess it just depends on where Hamlin takes it from here.

I didn't mean to leave everyone hanging here. I haven't been on the site for over a week for probably the first time since I joined the site. I'll move on though. While the race at Indy Road Course didn't go the way I wanted for my fantasy game, that was an extremely exciting race!!! There was so much action on every lap from Turn 1 all the way to the pit entrance. I think NASCAR changes that Turn 1 for next year though. That was just chaos and they need to move it to another of the options for the first turn. Chastain and Austin Dillon showed them where Turn 1 should be in 2023 with their bail from Turn 1 on the final restart. NASCAR needs to move it to that spot instead of the 90-degree turn with only 2 lanes for 4 lanes worth of traffic.

Turn 1 was designed by some European for F-1 Cars....
F-1 has a number of turn 1s that need to be plowed under and just make a straightaway out of them...
The more roadcourses they add, the more I am getting to dislike them.....
Don't believe the Street Course at Chicago will be even worth giving points for....
If they did restarts, at the point they started timing qualifying laps, the issue probably wouldn't be quite as bad....
But, just a smaller problem....

Myself I thought that race was disgusting. I hate that everyone, e cepr for maybe 2 drivers, seem go think you have to hit someone to pass them. And it doesn't seem to matter to them. That last restart when Joey went 5 wide he threw it in there and you knew the outcome but he always has the motto of spin him now apologize later attitude. I hate that so many cars got chewed up and spit out.
I will say Larzon is lucky Ty was there. Who knows what he would have hit if he wasn't.

I like the road courses. Unfortunately they don't need to be at the Charlotte Roval or Indy Road Course. Race the damn Indy oval. The drivers want to race and win on the oval. That means something to them. There are so many better courses and they left a great one in Road America. I am good with 6 of them but that is it. I will reserve judgement on the Chicago Street Course. It's a chance that NASCAR is taking. Something they would haven't bothered doing 5-10 years ago.

I 100% agree, I would rather see Charlotte oval and Indy Oval or I guess rectangle rather than the Road Courses. There are some nice road courses they could go to. Including Mosport up here in Canada. The same track the have for the truck series and have had awesome races each time. As for the street course I think we have to wait and see.

I like road courses too and have been hoping for many years that NASCAR would add more to the schedule. But I also agree that I'd rather see the Indy race on the oval, NOT the RC. However, I do like the Roval. Partially because they race in Charlotte twice a year anyway and partially b/c I attended the very 1st Roval race and it was exciting. I want to see them keep the Roval. I was glad they dropped the Daytona RC this season and hope they'll drop the Indy RC next season. I'm holding off judgement on the Chicago Street Course until I actually see it. There are plenty of road courses (and street courses) where NASCAR can race, so I like that they are trying different ones. I wouldn't mind seeing a 2nd race at Watkins Glen added to the Playoff races though.
