I'm not sure why I'm posting this. It's a broken record and will likely get ignored, and I will simply come across as an @$$ because I will sound stern, even though I'm not a teacher, or babysitter, or lecturer.
Please stop uploading Panini checklists with incorrect card numbers. I recognize that not everyone has been in the hobby as long as myself or others, but you would think that most, if not all, members of this site would know by now that numbers on insert checklists provided by Panini are made up. There are very few Panini insert sets that are numbered numerically.
So why then are there three IRs in for three recently uploaded 2020 Donruss insert sets requesting a card number be changed? The fact that only one card number was asked to be changed is another point to itself, but I won't go down that road right now. I spent 45 minutes correcting one checklist and it's current parallel, because the teams weren't uploaded either! Why are half done checklists being uploaded?
I hate to sound like a whiny little kid, but folks, this is ridiculous. We are adults (or at least young adults) here; please take some pride in your work and do things correctly the first time. I went to eBay and found every single card that I needed, front and back images. The work is doable; the resources are out there. Please stop with the junk.
"Oh, it's only 45 minutes, it's not that big of a deal, etc..." For the record, here is why this upsets me so much. There is a lot of talk about the small group who is dedicated to taking care of IRs, and there are more behind the scenes who fix things on the surface without submitting an IR. Perhaps I only speak for myself, but it gets tiresome when there are multitudes of requests for VARs and parallels and this and that to be added, only to have to spend 45 minutes on something that could have easily been done by the original uploader with some patience and pride. The IRs are finally down to two pages, and of those two pages, probably only 2/3 of one page can actually be fixed by membership; the rest are "Admin Needed". But those remaining are big projects, that take mutliple IRs and multiple days. It's frustrating when you go in there and see something that could have been avoided sitting there and needing work.
There are some who have burnt out already, and others who will probably end up heading down that path too. Please. I hate to say I'm begging, but...please.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Sorry, I did those checklists, they were my very first ones. Beckett.com said the numbering I did was right.

Uh-oh. Dan just posted about the same thing, and he asked Admin to remove the checklists.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

This is not the first time that this has been an issue, and was not meant to be directed at any particular member. It's just the latest in a long string of uploads that are still being fixed daily.
Luckily, I closed out the IR for the set that I was working on before Dan could see it, so he saw completed checklists there and did not mark them for removal.

Jason, you have more patience than I had with these types of things. I am one of those who burnt out in corecting the same types of errors in every set. Now I correct things sometimes depending on if I have the time - yesterday's venture in submitting IR to remove 183 images in one set was something I rather not have to do every day. There are guidelines that were implemented for a few years now and yet in checklists still being uploaded today, the guidelines are not followed. The main one being the use of the sub-letter. Most have not taken the time to learn how to do this so they still do it the old way which then makes the filter by card # ineffective. And then not linking the team is whole other issue of the laziness on some people's part.
You do not come across as whining - you show you care but are being beaten down by those who don't take the time to learn how to do things right before jumping in. Love their enthusiasm but not the work they create. And the problem is that most offenders won't take the time to read your post and maybe learn something from it.
FinBeast - good of you to speak up and accept the responsibility. Don't get discouraged but learn from this and ask for verification if need be. We all had to learn when we first came here and things were simpler then, not as effective, but simpler.

Knowledge is power. Again, this was not intended to single anyone out - I didn't even check the Change Log to see who uploaded the checklists I worked on. Like Bruno, I acknowledge and appreciate you taking ownership. A few things that have been covered between my post, and Dan's -
1) Most (not all, but most) Panini insert sets are not numbered as they are on the checklists released by Panini. Cardboard Connection lists checklists straight from Panini, so they are usually incorrect in numbering as well. Always try and visually verify the numbers on the cards via eBay, or COMC if they're listed there
2) Upload checklists with teams. The info usually isn't too hard to find, and it makes things much, much smoother. Again, if you can visually verify the card numbers, you can visually verify the team as well.
3) Mistakes happen. You have shown a willingness to learn from mistakes and correct them going forward. This goes a long way. There is an Inaccuracy area for a reason; no one is perfect. Just Tuesday I had to submit 38 IRs on myself because I accidentally merged a checklist that shouldn't have been merged. Let's just try and limit them going forward.
And again, I apologize for any offense caused. This was a general statement about the frustration that has boiled over. You are far from the first one to upload an incorrect Panini checklist, and you won't be the last - the difference is that this sounds like a fairly honest mistake. Those who intentionally upload crap...those are the ones that wear me down.

Thanks Jason for echoing MANY of the same sentiments throughout the thread.
I sent a message to FinBeast after I saw what I saw. :) It was probably not the nicest message, but it was pretty clear - incomplete checklists are not acceptable.
My diatribe turned into a dialogue and I gave FinBeast some pointers (many of which were discussed here.
If anyone else is reading on who wants to upload checklists but questions what we mean by accurate and complete, here is a little of what I wrote:
1 - Checklists should be complete.
What is complete? Number - Name - Team (if a team sport) - Note (if needed, such as AU, SN45, VAR, etc.) - Note2 (if the card is a VAR, explain the difference, etc.) - all 5 fields (Note & Note2 when needed) should be populated.
Additionally, if the set has 100 cards, all 100 cards should be uploaded at the start.
2 - Checklists should be accurate.
That means the numbers should be verified before uploading. Check ebay, find a listing that shows the back with the number. Checklist says 3 but the back has HH-AB? Now we need to find ALL the cards and verify, because even though that one may have been the player's initials, Panini doesn't always follow that pattern either.
FinBeast - when stuff like this gets posted to the forums and you don't see a user ID named - it may be about an specific member, but we're doing it in a way where we're not publicly "calling out" that member. That is why I contacted you through PM. I wanted you to understand the errors, but I wasn't trying to publicly shame you or anything like that - same with Jason. We do this to educate. If this stops another member from uploading a bad checklist, it saves us time. Valuable time we need to fix other things. As Jason alluded to, we have about 80 or so Inaccuracy Reports (IRs) sitting in a queue that maybe 10 of us work on on a regular basis. (Yep, that's all, only about 10 of us.) Many of those will take hours to resolve. (I have one waiting for me that could take a month - literally.) We really need people to be diligent in getting things right (or as close to right as possible) the first time. I am hopeful that posts like this will help all members do a better job in the crowd-sourcing effort we put in here.

To be fair Beckett tends to just upload panini checklists as is as well. But i know we all want TCDB to be the best, most accurate source ( I know I do) of checklists and collection inventory software. TCDB uber alles!!!!
