I received 4 things in the mail today. Two were easy to identify as one was a larger trade in a package and the other was from vrooomed. But the 2 PWE were less easy to identify, especially when I have 8-`12 on the go at any time. Neither were marked as to what trade they were from - no member ID or trade #. One or the other would have saved me guessing.
As well, I know they are not always available but if they are, a tracking # is very useful in this time of slow mail due to the pandemic. At least then, if it does not show up, the post office should be able to at least find out where it last was. I had another trade that was only finally located by the other member because I had never received it. It had gotten run over and the shipping label had gotten so that it could not be read. The post office located it in a warehouse only because the member had the tracking #. The package trade I received today had been mailed 6 weeks ago. Without the tracking #, I had no idea where it had gotten to. Fortunately it showed up today.

Great points . I try to write the transaction # one or two places on the envelope plus on a note I always include (along with my username). And if you're paying for tracking info you might as well use it and include it in the transaction messages.

I have small pieces of index cards where I write my name and trade number. Some members have made their own business card and write the transaction number on them. Some others will add the number on the cardboard they use to protect the cards in the envelope. All are good ideas to me.

I confess this doesn't occur to me since I usually only do one or two trades at a time. I will try to be better.

I usually do none of the above unless it's on the package. However seems to be a good idea for the smaller trades. Think I will do it.

I print out the transaction and cut out the part that has the Transaction ID and what each side sent and I put that in the package

I had never even considered a note with the trade ID until someone included it in a recent trade. I forget more often than not, I definitely need to get in that habit because I have seen how helpful it is!

I have noticed this more with some of the newer traders. I also have an issue with people changing the status of a trade. I have one that the tracking says it was delivered on April 30th and have not changed the status from package sent. I reached out to them to no response but they offered me another trade in the meantime. very strange.

I'm guilty of not identifying what the trade number is. I am just getting started with doing trades and never gave it any thought. Thanks for the suggestion.

Post Office advises to put an address in side shipped items so if they get separated from outer package there may be an address for them to work with
When I ship a greeting card I use a return address as user name and trade # ei

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards
