I would expect that the reprogramming required to make this idea work would be too much but would it not be nice if, when using the Match feature in proposing a trade, the sets that match up would be by the receiving member's sets closest to completion. This would mean that if I have two cards for trade that another member needs to complete a set, it would show up at or near the top of the list of the matches. It would be a great way to help out others.
I know Dan, asking for an incredible amount of reprogramming (at least I can only imagine). But one can dream.

It would be nice to help finish a set for someone. I tried it once. offered 3 cards to finish a set for a member and he countered by removing the 3 cards and adding only one. He wanted it more then the 3 cards. NO problem from me
This is why I have been sending PM and not offers to members the last year. As they have only one or maybe two cards for me and I have 50 or so cards on their want lists. Then they get to pick what they want vs that I offer.
I do have an issue that some will not reply. Worrying if they have their PM shut off.

Not quite sure I understand what you're saying. So you have two cards for a member that would complete his set. Okay, but how many cards does he have for you? What if it's none? For most that's a "no trade" possible. One of the reasons I stopped the Matches was because of the balance mismatch. I'd see matches from my Wantlist but upon looking at those members who had what I wanted there were zero matches to their Wantlist.
I'd rather see two-way Matches that could actually lead to a trade. Something along the line of showing number of card matches, "sandyrusty (75) : C2Cigars (89)".

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

C2, your suggestion would also be a very good feature. I am more suggesting that when already proposing a trade adn teh list of set matches is long, they would be in order of least cards to most cards. I was building a trade this morning and it was because of that that I thought , wouldn't it be nice....
I know others have also wished for your suggestion.

My error I tried to make it short. I had 3 cards that would have finished one of his sets. He had one card that I needed. The 3 cards that I offered was a little more value then what I was getting. IMO so no need to go into the pricing issues. The counter offer for one card for one card appeared to be the same value. again IMO. His message was I hope you do not mind if I counter offer as I would prefer this card if you still have it.
I can see how this would be helpful to many traders here. For me I would get something like "sandyrusty (59) :Budler (1)".
As far as shutting off Matches I can see why someone would want to do that.
It is just great to have a site that there are so many diff types of traders and ADIM will to look at many suggestions that will help us all.

The last line pretty much sums it up... To be able to please/satisfy everyone would be an inordinate amount of programming involved but I feel that most of the "active" members currently on the site have to be extremely happy with all of the enhancements that have taken place over the past little while (certainly in the "near" two years I have be involved).

budler - I wish I had one match to your want list but Nothing, still nothing. Maybe you need to expand into baseball!
And yes PapaG, when I put this post out, it was not to try to get it into the New Feature line up as I think it may be too much to ask for. I have learned to figure out how to find those last remaining cards to sets. The site has enough ways to search out traders for certain cards that a member who takes the time to figure it out can complete their sets easily enough (as long as the active members at least respond to PM or trade proposals - I think this remains the biggest frustration to those looking to trade). Maybe a New Feature should be that if a Trade Proposal does not garner a response from the a member, that member's collection starts being deleted one set at a time till he responds, give it say 3 days of beign logged on.

Sandyrusty - I'm having a hard enough time keeping up with my Husker collection let alone going into baseball even if it is Husker baseball.

I know I haven't been as active as I like to be
but if your trying to help them finish sets just mention it in the trade and give him / her the option to change whatever they may like and work out a deal that way. It's so your trader knows your trying to help and not just sending over an offer at random. Which I have done many times myself
We all talk about communication all the time and trading is the biggest part when communication is needed the most. IMO
