I am working on a few checklists of Bundesliga and La Liga. They have Notations in German or Spanish, I checked FAQ and guidelines with no set answer on how to abbreviate. I checked prior Checklists and found that they either done in English, Skipped over on one that don't translate well or even just not even used as in 2016-17 Bundesliga Match Attax. I am able to translate or used the Abrev which is on the card in orginal language. Anyone know the correct or proper way to do this? also is the use of the English name for the City correct or use the correct name in original language. Thanks in advance of posting any Checklist that is will make it a mess.

I would use the team name that matches the TID.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

My opinion...this is an English language website.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

This is an area where there is not necessarily one "right" answer; the overall site is in English, but it does include cards printed in many languages, so some issues are inevitable. The question is how to best balance accuracy and clarity of information when those areas "butt heads." That said, the site generally prefers use of what is printed on the card, with explanations added as necessary. Rule VIII addresses this to some extent:
Rule VIII: If an abbreviation is from a set printed in another language, giving the English translation in parenthesis is preferred, but not required. Example: ACT for Actualizción (Update)
The site also favors consistency, so it's a good idea to look at how prior sets defined something. Often the earlier abbreviations are okay, but sometimes it makes sense to change those to match a newer set, especially if the older set is missing images, which indicates the person adding the info may have been working off a checklist from another source rather than actually seeing the cards. Forum posts like this, asking someone you know who works in that area, or filing an IR can all be valid options in areas of uncertainty.
