The site currently lists over 9.6 million cards, with over 8 million in the big 4. The remaining 1.5 million cards are about evenly split between Non-sport (761k) and the other 10 sport categories combined (767k). The site already subdivides Non-Sport in some places, such as the yearly list of sets issued, but not others, such as the names index. Has Non-Sport gotten to the point that is would be beneficial to consider some sort of additional reorganization or subdivision? Would it be more useful for things like Pokemon and MTG to be searchable by themselves rather than being lumped together with unrelated things like Pin-ups, Star Wars, and GPK?

While I'm not sure how much work it would be, I do like that idea. It doesn't really apply to me as I only collect sports cards, but the idea of more specific categories would certainly seem to make more sense.
Perhaps even a "gaming" category, an "entertainment" category (for movies and TV shows) and categories like that would be doable?
Again though, I don't know how much work that would be from an Admin point.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

I think it makes sense that the gaming (e.g.magic, Pokemon) should have their own category.

Yeah, I'd like to see Collectible Card Games get their own category.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

A resounding 'YES' for the inclusion of a Collectible Card Game category!

I think the gaming , tv/movie
categories makes sense. I wouldn’t do one for each game ie Pokémon and magic. That to me would be like giving Topps and Upper Deck their own categories.

And with a separate "CCG" category, when creating PIDs the "Non-fictional Human" option, DOB, etc can be removed.

Would this include the sports card games like Match Attax? It's not that I don't disagree. I just see a very blurred line popping up here. It would be better to clear the potential problem up by oppenning up the discusiion now.

I would think the Attax cards would (and should) stay with the sports they are associated with. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Match Attax is soccer? Topps Attax baseball and football cards should also stay with baseball and football respectively IMO.
Gaming for me would include more Pokemon, Magic, etc.

I would be for CCG/TCG being it's own catagory. There are so many releases over the last few years and I would expect that to continue growin.
