Don't the TCDB business card sets fall into the same bootleg category?

Why does this keep coming up?
No. The TCDB business card sets are okay because they are made using templates provided by Topps to use for those purposes.
The "unlicensed" sets of the 80s/90s were created by either using original designs (which are allowed on here) or by using Topps/Fleer/Donruss/Bowman designs (which are not allowed on here as they violate copyrights).
At some points in the process, Star no longer had a league license for they various products and had to remove identifying team logos (NBA). Star was still under contract with the players and had a license with the NBAPA. Those are not "unlicensed" sets.

Because most members don't read the Forums regularly and rather just ask the question when they think of it.

I didn't start reading the forums until earlier this year and I don't know most of the stuff that has been discussed over the past 10 years on here. The forums don't have a decent search feature, so these questions will continue to come up.

Actually, the forums do have a search feature.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

They do have a search feature but it doesn't do a very good job.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

My biggest issue with this whole thing is that as a single player collector, I'm trying to fill in as many blank spaces of Walker as I can on the TCDB site.
I have several licensed cards in my collection which don't have checklists created so therefore, I can't upload the image. The 2015 Panini multi sport set is a good example. I have an autographed team slogans card I'd like to submit but there's no checklist and I can't do it.
I'd like to see spaces for these licensed cards become available before any non licensed ones do.

There's no intrinsic value in cardboard, but there's a lot of value in doing something you enjoy!

Just for the record, this isn't really up for debate. There's an IR to remove the set. There are six (I think) IRs in to remove the posted images first. To get those removed, they have to go through Admin.
If Admin agrees the set should go, he will remove the images, I will receive the notification that they're removed (yes, I submitted those six), and I will put forth the IR sent in by another member to get the set deleted.
If Admin says the set should stay, he will deny my IRs with a note saying as much, and the case will be closed. End of story. We can continue debating the legitimacy or our own personal feelings and fill up 12 forum pages, but Admin gets final decision on this, and if you can't live with what he says, well...sorry.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

I accepted the fact years ago that there will be "items" on this site of favorite players that I have no interest in collecting. And when I quit caring so much, and decided to overlook it, I started enjoying the site more. I used to fight about pocket schedules. I don't anymore. I don't care about pogs, but Bob does, so I don't care if he adds them. It doesn't affect me. I don't care if unlicensed cards are or aren't listed. There is a wrestling set recently added, using 1983 Topps baseball design, that I suspect may be homemade, but I'm not calling anyone out over it. I'm more annoyed by inaccurate checklists than the presence of sets I don't collect.
