With the site not having reliable prices/value of cards how do you guys decide what to top load what to soft sleeve and what to get rid of due to being worth less than $.50? I'm just curious

I top load stuff I wanna keep. I am mostly a team and player collector. I break it down to some basic groups.
- Base and Inserts
- Serial Numbered only
- Relic (although could contain a serial number)
- Autographed (could also be serial numbered and contain a relic)
I penny sleeve stuff that is mostly regular base that I like.

My PC is all top loaded no matter what others perceive as the value of the individual cards. It keeps all the cards of the same player together and in the order that they show in TCDb. I used to put lower end cards in a binder and only better cards in top loaders but that raised the issue of where a particular card might be found. As well, in a binder, I found myself having to move the cards when I got new cards that were older issues. Both these problems are behind me now that everything is in top loaders.

I topload the cards I like that are just singles that aren't part of a set or player collection that are in binders. Everything else goes into boxes for trading on here.

All my cards go in binder pages. I top load nothing. I collect for the love of the cards and not for value. I guess my cards have value, but to point to anything as having significant value, I just can't do so I just put them all in the binder pages and away I go.

I put any auto or relic cards in top loaders. I also put anything with a SN or PR of 100 or less in a top loader. Some cards may be in one touches, but those are my minimums to not be put in a binder page.

I mostly buy singles and don’t open many packs at all. Would rather spend the money and get what I want. I get base and stuff by buying team sets and lots and those just go into boxes. Chrome cards or other shiny stuff usually get penny sleeves to avoid scratching over the years. Also the $1 cards will get a penny sleeve and go in boxes. I don’t use binders either really except for Topps team set runs. Any singles over $5 get a top loader for the most part, that’s just my system and I use price paid or eBay going rate (looking at sold listings) to determine that

A few types of cards I top load.
- Cards for my personal collection, because some patch cards are thick
- Cards I may potentially sell, usually valued at $10 or more and because not everyone likes card savers.
the rest goes in card savers or pages for sets. The boxes do get heavier with the card savers but it is a bit cheaper and takes less space. Too bad the albums with pages takes up more space.
