I top load traders, but only inserts. I need more top loaders!

auto's, relics, Sp's, etc get top loaded, everything else is penny sleeved and put into set boxes, while the top loaders are stored in separate box. Slowly trying to get earlier sets into pages/binders too.

The only thing I top load is chrome cards when they start to curl. I will put them in top loaders and put something heavy on them for a few days or more depending on severity. The rest of the time, top loaders are only used by me for mailing. My collection is either in pages or boxes. No need for top loaders in either case.

This almost exactly what I do.
I also put my better RCs and harder to find inserts in top loaders too.
"Value" plays a part but also convenience - some cards (generally memorablia) are just to thick to fit binder pages so into the top loader they go.

Usually any of the "star" players common cards & any inserts, or oddities (blank backs, box bottoms etc.) of theirs. I also buy those "Rookie Card" top loaders for the RC's. Every couple of years or so I'll go through a set and change some of those. The players I thought might be future stars but aren't come out for others who turned out to be good.

Anything too thick to go in a binder page goes into a top loader, so mostly relics and cards issued on thick stock. Everything else goes in a binder.

I've always been a binder guy. I think they can look great and it's a really nice experience going through a binder. But as the collection grows I have accepted, and getting accustomed to store cards in storage boxes in Toploaders or One-Touches.
Right now I use a binder for 2019-20 UD Allure as they don't have any really thick cards.
For my Panini collection I'm thinking about using One-Touches for all +180pt and maybe everything below a certain serial number, the rest in Toploaders.

Personally, I put everything in penny sleeves. Here are the kinds of cards I put in toploaders:
- Anything autographed (I would put memorabilia in toploaders but they don't fit)
- Undersized cards (and some oversized cards, like the Topps Bigs)
- Anything with a serial number/limited run
- Anything with significant emotional value to me

I put any SPs, parallels, numbered cards, jersey/relic cards, and autos in penny sleeves. However, I put most autos in top loaders and will end up putting anything over 10$ in a top loader when I go back through my collection.
