Don't have a "plan" in place but have been leaving notes to whoever finds them that say this box is all on the database for trade or this box is all on ebay. Also hints in the PC stuff like "you would be better off selling all these as a lot" or ",more value selling these individually. Also my wife makes fun but I have an excel spreadsheet that shows all the penguins and eagles cards I have and how much I paid or if I traded for. Told her she could just take that on a flash drive to whoever was interested to help sell. Just my 2 cents. Happy collecting until death y'all!

When I'm gone, my kids already have dibs on a lot of memorabilia hanging on my walls, but I really don't know what will happen to my card collection. I've considered willing it to my grandson, but it pains me to think that after all these years and money spent that the cards will be sold to some card dealer who will low-ball them on a buy so he can break the collection and cut a profit on individual cards, or my family doing the same. I would like for someone to keep it all intact and continue to build on what I have accomplished. I befriended another collector through this site who is very much interested in doing just that. So, if my family doesn't keep it and continue to grow the collection, hopefully it gets sold to another collector who will. Surely, if nothing else, there's someone in the Chicago area who would be thrilled to acquire my collection as a whole. Or maybe the Smithsonian.. lol

If the Inc. or Inc, *denotes*, "e" or "f", little black dots, etc. doesn't end us...we may be immortal!

The wife gets my '59 Topps baseball set because she bought that for me. The'60 Topps baseball set goes to my daughter. The '68 thru this year Topps baseball sets will be sold and split between my wife and daughter.

So far my kids haven't shown an interest. Maybe grandkids will. If not, and I don't need to sell them off to pay for retirement or other things, I could see selling them off over say a year's time and then maybe setting up some kind of small scholarship.

As a guy that’s cleaned out “collections” of dead relatives, don’t leave it to your heirs unless they’ve specifically said they want it. It’s emotionally taxing for someone to handle things they know were special to you but they don’t have interest in or space for.
I asked my youngest over Christmas. He doesn’t want my cards so that’s why I have 3,500 listed for trade here and 200 to keep. Goal is to end with one set box or 650-ish cards I like and can keep. After that, I don’t care.

My collection is much like Danny Devitos coin collection in Throw Momma From The Train movie.
I got this card when my Dad and I went to the card shop. And I got this card when my Dad and I were at a yard sale. And this card was from the card show we went too. 🤣
If my kids don’t want them maybe I’ll donate my Lefty Grove cards to the local Museum in Lonaconing Md.
