Any reason this Rickey Henderson card is selling for as much as it has? Sportlots prices, no less.

Supply on sportlots must have dried up.  It is Henderson's final Topps card as an active player and that is one of the PSA set registries so there might be a bit more interest because of that.  Can't think of any other reason it'd be one of the highest valued cards in the set.

This HAS got to be a B***ett-induced price fix, a sham, a scam. As I've spent the past few months reconfirming my collection I've become beyond convinced that this is the result of us granting this almighty price fixer more power over the hobby than warranted. 

I just looked it up on ebay, prices there were actually slightly lower (2 to 3 dollar range instead of the 5 and 6 sportslot reflected).  Usually it's the other way around with Sportslots showing lower prices than ebay.  Or Sportslot not having any updated prices in years and not reflecting current prices.

Overall I've been noticing prices have been all over the place on just about every sight.  I've been seeing some of the cards I'm shopping for ranging from under $1 to over $20 as their sold prices.  Usually they are all at least in the ball park, or in the case of vintage reflective of their conditions.  Not recently,  Instead I'm seeing cards listed as near mint selling less than beaters and cards listed as in the same condition going for wildly different prices.  I was actually going to start a thread asking if anyone understood what was going on with sale prices recently until I saw this one.

I just looked on COMC and the cheapest is on sale for 30% off at $17.75. Was there something unique about this card? 

I know why!!    I sold my last one for 50 cents and now people willing to pay more.    I sell it and it goes up but I buy it and it goes down. LOL

I agree with lildog7.    Now days I see prices all over the place.    You used to see a range of 10-20% different.  Now you see 200-1000% different or more.

Some of us remember when the LCS would look at Beckett (high range) when they were selling and Tuff Stuff (low range) when they were buying.   Always saying  I have to make a little profit.

Not exactly sure but I do know collectors who like to buy last year cards of a player’s caret. Then there are the ones who are into PSA registry. Maybe they’re driving the prices on the card.

My theory is that some youtube investor recommended buying the last year of Hall of Fame players and people are trying to hoard them. 

That's a nice conspiracy theory but it's wrong.  Beckett "high" price on this card is a whopping 50 cents.
