The last time my collecting was effected by the sports seasons was when I was a kid in the '70s before I found my LCS. Then came the internet and in recent years the card manufacturers making cards for each sport practically all year round.
-------------------------------
I collect: Baseball, Football, Hockey, Mostly Vintage pre1980, My Homie teams - Washington/Baltimore Teams Senators (Twins, Rangers), Expos/Nationals, Redskins, Capitals, Bullets/Wizards - HOFers - Non-sport (mostly TV shows and movies). My Trade List is very much a work in progress CaptKirk42s Trading Card Blog Curly W Cards Strive For '65 YouTube klandersen42

Correct, for me, there isn't really an off season for collecting. There's still more sets to come out, and it's also never a bad time to add the thousands of cards that I haven't marked in my collection lol.

My eBay store.- Be sure to check it out! FOR SALE/TRADE: View my profile for details! If there's a certain player you want, ask me about them, I'll probably have a card of their's that I'm willing to trade but haven't marked on my FS/T list. For more specific info, visit profile or message me.

Things do slow down a little for me once the Topps Holiday set comes out. I still have a subscription box that comes in once a month and my trades here. I'm always up for another trade. It does give me some time to get my PC organized some though.

Only good thing about no baseball to watch is that prices usually dip in the off-season so sometimes I end up buying more?

I work on other sets I'm trying to complete. At the moment I'm building from scratch Topps 2002, 2014 and 2015. About halfway done with all three.

The best time to buy cards is when you can afford them. Especially during the time, we are living. The second best time is the offseason the biggest reason is most people who are into cards for money are getting rid of cards when the player doesn't have hype around them. They also typically don't follow sports they follow prices, so when they see prices dipping they sell.
-------------------------------
When life has you down buy a pack of cards and realize you overpaid.

Like others have mentioned, I try to focus on filling gaps in older sets. I'm pretty much brand new here so these gaps are very apparent all of a sudden!
