Honestly, if it was three lower-end Jones cards, seller probably should have just bought them separately and sent them to you. That's what I do for trades for cards that I belatedly find out I no longer have, for though it eats a bit into one's finances, it's worth doing to make the buyer/trader happy.

Unfortunately I know all too much about this type of thing. If you are disputing the sale by getting your CC company involved, you need to tell them it is for good/services not rendered. They may ask to see any messages between the two of you. Also, it may not be a bad idea to record yourself opening the envelope just to show that the cards recieved were did not match what was agreed upon, and also to show the condition in which they were recieved

I just did a deal with bbcards. I wouldnt be surprised he just gives a refund. Not well done to this point for sure but I felt he was reasonable to deal with.

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

Not crazy. If you paid a price expecting certain cards and some of those cards become unavailable, there should be communication about whether you want the rest or to just cancel the transaction all together. I'm aware of another situation where one memeber unilaterally decided how to resolve an issue. It's just not good practice esp if you want to use this site to BST in the future.

I see he did ultimately resolve it, he gets credit that in my book and restores my faith in humanity for the moment.

Glad this worked out. The other member seems to be pretty involved here. It is a good reminder that if you can't fullfill an agreed upon transaction it's not up to one side to determine a fair resolution. Here is the key word...
Communication

I'm going to suggest its, maybe not only communcation, but communication + action.
Truth may also be added in there, because communicating nonsense generally leads to more problems.

He agreed that he needed to communicate better so hopefully this doesn't happen again.
I basically told him that I expected better communication and he responded "I agree. The communication wasn't very good. Although I felt I got an ass chewing. You can keep the cards and I will refund."
