What does do you use for scanning your cards to post on thios site. I had a scanner until about 4 days ago now it just does not want to work. Guess its time for a new one. Any suggestions?

Epson V600. Great for scanning anything. Cards, family photo albums, slides, etc. Fast and easy.

I'll second this (and I'm sure I'm not the only one!). Excellent quality scans, and the go-to if you absolutely have to scan a slabbed or sealed one-touch card. To be fair, it's not the cheapest, but with some cheaper ones you'll just have to pony up to buy another one making it worth it. Also, I managed to find mine refurbished from I believe Adorama for under $200 and you may have some luck getting something used on eBay or elsewhere.

I got a Canon CanoScan Lide 300, which retails for $70 and I'm super happy with. You can see some sample scans here. It's a CIS (Contact Imaging Sensor) scanner, as opposed to a CCD (Charged Coupled Device), which essentially means newer, way less expensive technology that does a great job as long as the item to be scanned is right up against the glass. If you have a lot of slabbed cards, you may want to go with a CCD scanner since the card is recessed away from the scanning surface and you wouldn't get as clean an image with a CIS scanner.
The software on the CanoScan Lide 300 is super minimal, but I'm doing my straightening and cropping in Photoshop so I don't care. They make a 400 model that comes with more robust software, can't really spreak to the quality of the software.

Getting out of the hobby, only looking to sell at this point. Also slowly listing on eBay, BSC, and Whatnot if you prefer to buy there for some reason. $15 credit available for new users with my Whatnot invite. Cheers!

I highly recommend Epson. We have the ET-4750. Ink is cheap for the printer part of it and it scans really nice and easy.
We had a Cannon but the ink for that cost a fortune.

We just got a Brother MFCJ1010DW all-in-one for the family, and it's only been a few months, but I really like it. Good customer support, too, so far.
I'd like to be able to scan straight to phone, then upload to TCDB without having to save images to the computer, but I haven't had time to play with that yet.

I use a Canon Canoscan 9000F and use RansenScan as my software so I can do batch scanning. I miss the days back on XP when I could still run Instant Photo Scanner, as it was the best software I'd found for being able to detect and separate multiple items on the scanner bed and save them as individual images. RansenScan can do it, but its edge detection algorithm needs work. Still a lot of minor straigntening and trimming that I do in ACDSee.

I am using an Epson Perfection V39 with the software that came with it. It's not a bad scanner, especially for the price I paid at Costco, but I wouldn't use the word "perfection" to describe it, especially since the frame that surrounds the scanning bed is not very square, but I have found a way to counter that.
To give credit where credit is due, at 400 dpi, it manages to show imperfections which are not (easily) picked up with just the naked eye, making all of my cards look far worse scanned than they do in hand.
I know several others have said thet they use an aftermarket software to edit their scans, but I can do a rough crop with the Epson software and then use the cropping feature on this site to get the job done. I don't know how people feel about the crop feature on here, but I like it just fine!

Anyone have a link to Billy's scanning tutorial? Might try a few...
