Person 1: "How's your day going?"
Person 2: "Terrible. Worst day in quite some time."
Person 1: "What's going on?!?!?!"
Person 2: "Well I collect sports cards, and I use a free online database to track my collection."
Person 1: "Ok, I'm following"
Person 2: "Well it seems people are point farming, and I'm not happy about it.
Person 1: "What is point farming?"
Person 2: "It's where you only upload one side of a card, usually the back, in an effort to generate points".
Person 1: "What are the points for?"
Person 2: "Not sure I know the answer to that. But they add up, and it's troublesome."
Person 1: "Ok, Hey--I'll be right back! (never returns)
The site makes it a point to display the total amount of cards listed and total images added, and it's displayed right where you login. I upload a lot of back images, and I like to think I'm contributing to the growing number. I couldn't care less about points. Sometimes, I even go back and upload the front image when I get the card, and it's nice already having the back image loaded.
Pesonally, I load images so I don't have more than 4 or 5 pages of "Cards in your collection missing images on the site".
