As I have been adding scans of this years Prizm football, I came across someone who has been farming points by scanning just the back of the card. Is this something I just mind my business about, or should the person be reported? I am a firm believer that you should scan both sides if you have the card, or add the scan of the side that is missing.

I think people tend to do that only for parallels where the backs are identical to the base cards. Personally, it doesn't get you anywhere to add just the backs, but it makes some people feel special. I don't think it's a reportable offense.

As long as the backs on the parallels are completely identical, it's not a problem. We have seen cases where they differ slightly, and then it's a problem - and reportable.

Adding a singular scan to the database is helping the site because you're adding data to the database. If the scan is inaccurate, then it is a problem and like others have said, reportable.

I would make sure they didnt duplicate the backs for a parallel that has serial numbering. I have seen some sets where someone carried the backs over but the parallel was a SN set, and the SNs are not shown in the scanned image.

It has long been a pet peeve of mine. If a space is created for a particular card on the database, then I feel only that particular card image should be uploaded. Not a back of another card, identical or not. If both the front and back card spaces are unfilled and someone has that card in hand, he should upload both the front and back images at the same time. This is usually the case. About the only time you see someone upload an image of just a back, is when the card is a relatively hard to find parallel, in which the backs are all the same. I've added several front images, where someone has already uploaded the back, because I obtained the actual card in hand. I can't think of one time where I've uploaded a back image by itself. It won't change, because guys do it to get points. For me, the point thing is irrelevent to why I use this site.

There's no intrinsic value in cardboard, but there's a lot of value in doing something you enjoy!

I totally agree with you Banny. You should not be allowed to submit a single scan of, usually the back, a card. Both front & back scans should be scanned to be able to be submitted. If you don't have the card, don't bother scanning & submitting. The database should be modified so that both front & back scans of a card must be submitted. "Just my opinion!"

A number of times, usually with a regional set, I have submitted only the back, when the front side has been autographed or only the front when the back has been damaged.

If it comes to a set like Pokemon or other gaming sets, where the backs are 100% identical, does it really matter if each individual cards is scanned or if the same back is submitted for full set? Seems like it would just be a waste of time and effort. If someone only has an hour to scan, I would personally rather see them scan the fronts, which are different.

A few times I have scanned both the front and the back of the card, planning to upload both, but the front scan (usually of chrome cards) is so bad that I don't upload it, but since the back is right there, I've uploaded it. I don't do it anymore though because it seems to upset some people.
