First, I have to admit and apologize that I did laugh to myself that it was a toenail fungus ad because that is not at all where my mind went :) To share in your frustration though I have the SAME thing happen with SPAM email and learned the hard way how taking the time to "Unsubscribe" makes them send 10-100 for every one to which I unsubscribed. It is so bad that I have missed potential job offers or meetings (I am actively looking for a place to live, New job and vehicle all at once) and just created a new email address for it to start over. To answer someone else about controlling the ads, the site (usually) has no control over specific ads anymore; rather, a class of ads such as Google sponsored or Facebook etc. Since those companies know their ad sponsorships are clutch to keep sites like this free for those of us who might not be able to otherwise afford it they (FB, Google, Samsung...) seem to have dropped any standards they once may have had with the adverts. Cheers! Becks

!!!ONLY GOOFING AROUND!!! Just to give an idea how the adds work:
Reasons you might see an ad
Your info:
Info in your Google Account, like your age range and gender
Your general location
Your activity:
Your current search query
Previous search activity
Your activity while you were signed in to Google
Your previous interactions with ads
Types of websites you visit
Types of mobile app activity on your device
Your activity on another device
So if you see some "kinky" add, ask yourself, if it isn't you, who is using your computer and question their website visits. The information above is from the Google adds (addchoices) you see. My adds are movie t-shirst, comics related (just so you know)!

Nothing but DIcks on my ads. Every day all day long. But i do look at a lot of their shoes. 90% of the ads i see on here are tailored to my browsing history. And then some that are most likely based on an algorith which suggests some of your all sick chocies.

About the only time I even take notice of ads here,
is when I click the Ebay link.....
Even on other sites, if it's not large and center mass,
it's not even white noise for me....
Understand there are some who read everything on a page.....

Bear in mind a lot of devices also collect data through their microphones. The radio next to me is having a discussion about carbon neutrality, sustainable farming etc and I now have an ad for clean air fireplaces.
So it can also be what you talk about around your phone, tablet, computer etc.

I talk about guns, knives, swords, and Chinese stars and punji sticks but I never get an ad for those things. Probably a good thing for I would be spending my time checking all of that stuff out rather be on here entering my collection or trading cards.
I don't even look I have learned to ignore the ads until an ad covers my phone hit the x and move on. Good thing I'm patient for all those things I mentioned above would have been used on my phone and computer 😂

When I read those first two sentences, I thought, "Wow, what have you been looking at online???" I appreciate the laugh!
As others have pointed out on this thread, what you've been viewing previously can influence what ads you see here. That's always seemed pretty spot-on, but one time, all I saw here were ads for wedding dresses. I'm not getting married. At the time, I wasn't even in anyone's wedding. If I had been getting married, I would've been wearing a suit or a tux and not a dress! I'm still curious what I was viewing online that made some algorithm say, "I bet he's in the market for a wedding dress!"

I love to trade! Check the top couple of paragraphs of my profile to see my general trading desires. If you're uncertain if I’ll take a certain trade, message me and we can figure out something.

I wonder if it also has to do with profile pictures on the site. There are a few suggestive pictures and so I wonder if ads come from that.

CLicking the little arrow in the corner not the "X" takes you to this page which explains most of the ad algorithim.
Why this ad?
This ad is based on:
- Your visit to the advertiser's website or app
- Information you gave to the advertiser, which the advertiser provided to Google. Learn more
- Your similarity to groups of people the advertiser is trying to reach, according to your activity while you were signed in to Google
most of the time it is either number 1 or 3... 3 explains the funkiness.
Following this below link will take you to the AD profile google has built up on you... Pretty interesting. Like cats was one of mine and i hate cats. From there you can turn off certain categories or show fewer from.... THEY ARE ALWAYS WATCHING.... This is if you are logged into chrome.
