With school geting back in session, let's take the time to post any facts, discoveries and strange middle names (thanks Donruss!) about our cards that we have learned either from this site and/or from meticulously going over our collections.
For example, when checking the back of my cards on the Career Highlights section to se if they were Factory set or not, I noticed that the John Tudor card stated that in 1985, he "rebounded from 1-7 start to finish 2nd in NL CY Young voting". His record was 21-8 that year! If it wasn't for Dwight Gooden busting on the scene, he would've won it for sure.

As some of my early trading partners may know, I am a Cardinals fan that used to live in Richmond Texas, so it was really cool when I discovered Matt Carpenter lives just down the road from me in Sugar Land.

Yep. Him and his dad are really nice people. His dad was our high school coach back when winning National Championships on the back of Matt and James Loney.

I just learned that my 1997 Pinnacle X-Press Pusuit of Paydirt Eddie George Auto has no certification and looks just like the regular card except for a gold foil stamp. I had thought for years it was just a card that someone got signed at a show!

Got to watch him play at TCU (my Alma Mater as well as his). Great guy. He used to live across the street from the TCU baseball stadium and next door to a good family friend of mine.

Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.

I had no idea that the backs of 1992 donruss cards had a watermark on them. It's impossible to see unless you're looking for it.

Tudor was just elected to Cardinals HOF recently. He spoke of 1985 fondly ( but did not mention the ending).

Speaking of Tudor's 1985 season, he had 10 shutouts that year, and finished 8th in MVP voting!

Orta was out, no disputing that fact, however Cardinal fans always forget he was still the first out of the inning, a force out at third. (After Jack Clark missed an easy pop-out at first on the next batter.) Also, the fact conveniently forgotten was the Cardinals batted .185 for the series. Tito Landrum was the only player who had a good series- .360. (Ozzie's average was .087./ Porter- .133.)
I moved to St. Louis in February of 1986. I've heard all the arguments but have yet to find anyone that remembers the "blown call" against the Royals in game 2.
