Shining Fates by any chance? My son has been dragging us to Walmart to try to score the Shining Fates Elite Trainer Box, which is $50 at Walmart but never in stock, and $130 at the local game store.

So the only place left in my area to buy blasters is Meijer's who bumbs the price up $5 a box.
Repacks are in Walgreens around the Detroit area, but the only ones I have seen are baseball at $4.99 for 100 cards.

Yeah cards are probably too profitable for these stores for it to be permanent. even before the rush they sold quite well at local stores.

When I could find it I bought about $500 worth every two months with their clearnce sections. I have over 30 2017 packs from clearance.

I am going to look at the bright side, since i havent been able to find any wax since Thanksgiving, i have been finding other ways to get my fix in. I started buying singles on twitter and more inportantly joined here where i have traded with some really great people. Since January i have filled my collection with much cooler cards than i would have pulled from any packs.
i get it, i love ripping packs, but this was the right thing to do. I wasn't going to target to wait on line in hopes to buy one product, it seemed like madness.
These companies WANT to get their products sold so I would be willing to bet that another method of obtaining wax will surface very soon. Hopefully a better one, where we can all enjoy it again. My two cents -Dan

Well this sucks. The card shop closest to me is in Colonie which is about an hour from my house.

Profitable for the card company I doubt very much for the retailer. Plus now they have to deal with unruly customers, pack searchers, fraudulent returns, having to hire security for deliveries, special attention their employees have to pay to purchase policies, means that no amount of profit is worth the headache. Plus the contract fulfillment companies that deliver cards to the retailers are being stalked at their place of business at their home and being followed around town as they make deliveries. I bet that has something to do with it as well for the safety their employees.

I'm honestly not surprised. After reading about a guy pulling a gun out to protect himself in a target parking lot, I knew this was coming. It doesn't matter to me, somebody is buying up everything in my area so I gave up. Walgreens ordered some 2021 Topps hangers and I bought a couple. But it's just not the same. I refuse to go to my lcs since I heard he's buying up everything. I've switched back to more trading anyway, I have too much to go through anyway.
