This may be viewed as a bad move or a cry for help from the War Department, aka the Wife, but I just branched out and made purchases from 3 other outlets I rarely or never have used. This week I ordered about 60 cards from COMC. ETA Julyish. I have bought from there before but not during the covid era. I also just placed orders on baseballcardstore.ca and Sportlots. Let's see how this goes. I was so angry after another E-bay seller cancelled my winning bid for an auction becasue he didn't feel it sold for enough. I looked through his Feedback and noticed I'm not the first person he's done it to. I guess he didn't need my $26 bucks. E-bay just lets these clowns do whatever they want. So I figured I'd try someplace else. No major purchases just filling insert sets that I haven't been able to fill here.

Same here.
Ebay is a total joke. I don't know how they do to get worst each and every day the sun rises.
COMC is slow and pricing varies a lot. Good only on non-common cards.
Sportlots is okay, but many sellers push a bit too hard on shipping costs.

I've purchased from Sportlots before and have been satisfied. My only gripe as one other already pointed out is the shipping cost.

You're absolutely correct to find what works for you. In terms of eBay, I'm mostly using it at this point only for extremely rare stuff (1/1s and plates especially) that I can't find elsewhere because shipping costs have gone up way too high to justify buying most stuff there, besides some of the frustrating experiences you've mentioned.
My first baseballcardstore.ca experience was excellent and I'll be heading back there for more dime box goodness in the future.
COMC was my go-to for a long time because you can score some nice deals if you're patient, including during their (less and less common) sales. Their complete nosedive in shipping/processing time/customer service is a huge turnoff, though, so my spending will definitely decrease there bigtime.
Sportlots has been mostly great for me, especially by saving lots with the Box service at the cost of waiting a lot longer.
Lastly, Cardbarrel/Justcommons has been generally solid for me, though out of my several orders I've had something missing in almost every order. They've made it right each time, though.

Depending on what you're after you'll likely get more for your money with Cardbarrel--one package, so one shipping cost/free if you spend $25 plus. It's a fun alternative to Sporlots because some Cardbarrel cards are less than the Sportlots $0.18 minimum.
That'll likely look better to the wife than receiving five individual eBay envelopes where you had to pay $5+ shipping for each! See? You're saving money! How can you afford not to try it?

Hey guys. Thanks for the lead on baseballcardstore.ca. Looks like all prices are in USD... Just to confirm, is the shipping to US and Canada a $4.99 USD flat rate? Thanks!
