last week I dumped a newly aquired box of 76-77 topps basketball (the larger size set)...they came in a box with a lid that opens from the top instead of interlocking flaps like most other size of boxes do...

someone moved them from the car to my countertop without noting which way was up..

several were creased, and my 3 yr old grand daughter was by me when they fell and she did her best to help me scoop them up

oh well, it happens!

You make a good point, our adopted maltese is arriving this weekend. Up go the cards.

OH! We all have done it. :( It does not look too bad. I'm always fascinated by the pattern they fall to. most are still in number order. It's the odd ones that pop out or flip I always wonder about, the how.

Right,  of course! Can't be mad at a little one for trying to help... Other issues maybe... But grandparents job is more spoiling than correcting.... At least in this family 

i feel your pain.. had a 4 row box stuffed - all perfectlly organized because it wasn't sets, player, year, MFR.. and it took a dive..not a good feeling

A couple years back I managed to knock over a stack that damaged about 2 dozen cards, including a patch SN20 and my only Precious Metal parallel from 1996-97 Metal. A card I pulled from a pack myself. Even if I replaced it, the memory is forever tainted now.
