Well, now that Christmas is really here (for some, Christmas Eve is when the gifts were opened, others wait till the morning of Christmas day), it is time for sending a Merry Christmas to all the great members here on TCDB. This has been a very good year for me in trades as well as meeting members, Trevor, Shane and Kari.
I want to especially thank all those south of the 49th parallel who have taken the time to learn economy in shipping internationally and therefore have become repeat trade partners with me. Not that I am keeping score but so far the list goes like this:
860502, herkojerko & mmehler30 - 11
grote15 - 10
kents stuff - 9
sportzcommish - 8
Hebron Reds Fan - 7
mzentko - 6
Without those of you who have explored methods and followed advice on how to reduce shipping costs to Canada, the trades would have been much fewer. I, along with all my fellow Canadian members on this site, thank you for realizing that there actually exists collectors beyond the borders of the continental U.S.A.
I (as well as most of you on this site) also want to thanks C2Cigars for his exemplary generosity, remembering my birthday, and then soon followed up with a somewhat-like Remembrance Day card (he actually apologized for not being able to find an actual Remembrance Day card) with a baseball card inserted in each. Thanks Chuck.
Lastly, a Merry Christmas to all the other international members beginning with AussieWayne who is probably already eating turkey. Or do they roast a kangaroo for their dinner. Well, we all know he is probably opening more than one Foster's today.
Merry Christmas to all and to all, best wishes in 2019!

I second that motion, Bru! Merry Christmas to all!
And to my Canadian friends, let's continue trading. I know that of those 8 with Bru (and I hope to be #1 by the end of 2019) I've gotten great cards spanning both vintage and modern, and always in excellent condition.
And may I add, Bru has also shown generosity to me beyond cards, and that's greatly appreciated. You are one that truly encourages me to continue collecting and trading.

As having traded previously and on multiple occassions with both sandyrusty and sportzcommish this past year (actually 9 months and 3 weeks, but then again who's counting!) I too would like to wish one and all the best of the season. As for trading here it's become obvious that for many there are no boundaries (/ borders) and that it really is an international / global site that allows all of us to persue what has been truly a life long persuit/"obsession"?... May we continue to foster further friendships in the coming months and hopefully year.

I know this isn't necessarilly a baseball thread, but, as far as sports go, I have a one track mind.
Since I first joined the site, I noted how many Canadians were here. Dispite the extra difficulty in trading and just being an MLB fan (because MLB doesn't support them, only 1 team!...California alone has 5 teams), they are are great collectors & fans.
Canada is a great baseball nation! If I had the power I'd give Canada another MLB team for Christmas. Too great of a baseball (and card collecting) country to have just one MLB team! Well, I certainly don't have that power, so in the meantime my New Year's resolution is to do my best to trade Canadian collectors.

You know if we could get North and South Koreans trading cards I bet they’d be best friends in no time. Merry Christmas everyone! And Bruno I hope to make that list next year.

It is exactly 7:24 PM and I have been given permission to wander on for a few hours. I have my Eggnogg and Baileys, Fred Claus on the TV, fireplace going in the family room and JR bouncing off the walls. Had a lovely visit with my mother at the home even convincing her to take photos at their tree. My life this year has had its ups and its DOWNS, things could be better but I am here. Not much happened for me this year as in positives but I am thankful for the chance to go east and meet good ol' Cigars. It was worth every second to get thee my friend. If not for that trip I don't think I would have opened any hobby boxes at all this year. Still sitting on two football boxes and one OPC. LOL
As for the rest of you yahoos you dont realize how much it means to simply just come here and do nothing!! I can sit on here and flub around while watching TV, listening to music, etc and enjoy the threads knowing that there are others here doing the exact same thing. Reading what the core of you guys put on here is interesting even if half of it I know nothing about. I'm babbling here but just trying to say Thanks, each and everyone of you here help me through the tough times, the slow times. Here is to a better 2019 ...... please!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. To those of you celebrating differnt but equally important holidays, enjoy the time of celebration.

I hope next year is better for your my friend.
Actually, I hope next year is better for all of us, even if 2018 was a good year.
Christmas is a time of great reflection, as is the entire end of the year. While I am personally not where I'd like to be health wise, I am glad I have another year with my family and my cardboard friends.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Merry Christmas to all.
As this year began I was 4 months into being unemployed and after finally getting hired on 30 Apr 2018 I thought my life had finally made a turn for the better. Well low an behold in the beginning of Sept my wife of 3 years told me she did not want to be married again. Wanted to be single. Found out a few weeks later she was living with another guy. To finish out the year, My truck is acting up, I am getting dirvoed, my dryer decided it did not want to heat anymore. Throw in a hail storm that destroyed my airconditioner, luckly it is a combined heater/air conditioner that the heater still works.
The only constant is my collection. I have now started to make a card room in my home and moved everythings but the bulk cards. Haven't decided if this is going to be the room or am I going to use my office off the master suite? The only down side is the lack of closets in that room. The room I am working on has closets. More photo's to come.
May 2019 be a better year for me.
2017- lost my mom, started my unemployment
2018- hail storm, unemployment, truck problems, appliance problems, divorce started.
-------------------------------
Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.
