So I just started listing some cards on eBay in the last few weeks. Everything BIN, low prices, just extras I'm trying to unload and get exposed to more people (I think 15 total cards, counting the three that already sold). They're also on my FS/T list here.
Anyway, my point is that of the three that I've sold, I've finally gotten feedback on the first one (that was sold two weeks ago). That was only after messaging the buyer this morning and simply saying "Hey, hope it got there fine, if you're satisfied, positive feedback is appreciated."
Is this normal? Do buyers usually not leave feedback for sellers upon receiving the item? I'm a relative newbie on eBay so some nice positive feedbacks would certainly be beneficial in padding my resume, if you will. However, if I know not to expect them, perhaps that would clear up some of my confusion.
Thoughts? Comments? Maybe I'm way off base here and making a mountain out of a molehill.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Unfortunately many people don't or won't leave feedback. Even after receiving a request to do so. I have almost 3500 feedbacks with a 100% rating, but I probably have another 500 transactions that I received no feedback at all. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is. I always leave feedback for both selling and buying. When selling, I leave feedback before shipping item, although some sellers won't leave feedback until after they receive positive feedback from the buyer. When buying, I leave feedback asap after receiving my item.

Sadly it is very common. Many people both buyers and sellers for some reason either are very slow with giving feedback or never do. Mostly buyers I guess they think the sellers do enough business that one feedback won't make a difference. Whatever their reason or what they think they are wrong.

As others have already said, there are a lot of ebay users (both buyers and sellers) who for whatever reason don't leave feedback. It's annoying but there's not much you can do about it.
My personal practice regarding feedback on ebay as well as for trades here is to leave it as soon as the other party fulfills their part of the deal. I don't wait for them to post feedback... if they held up their part of the transaction they get positive feedback.

It is very common. And I find, the more expensive the card, the less likely of any feedback. Don't ask me why.

Frustrating but as others have said, common.
I've left feedback on everything I've ever purchased except for one card that came damaged due to being in a pwe. I would have left a neutral if I left any.
I've not gotten feedback on stuff I've purchased about a dozen times, if you look at my feedback received it shows none in the last year, but feedback left is three. I don't sell things, but I leave feedback within 24 hours of receipt of item.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I buy a lot of singles on eBay and I usually leave feed back that day or the next as I enter them here and include the price that I paid. It helps me figure out which cards I actually received.

In the early days of ebay, feedback was the key to everything. Even having 50 positives was huge. (This was 1998-99.)
At that time, all transactions also were conducted through e-mails. You would receive the buyer's e-mail in an e-mail from ebay, which would also give the buyer the seller's e-mail address. So, once the transaction was over, another e-mail out requesting appropriate feedback was an automatic from me.
So, after taking a bit of a selling hiatus from ebay (birth of a kid will do that), I got back selling, and everything is done through ebay, no sharing of e-mail addresses, etc. OK, no biggie. So, I sell 5 items, and I get 1 feedback. I send a reminder out and I got a BUNCH of snarky comments about how it was pathetic of me to request feedback and that if they wanted to leave any they would. So, I announced that I would leave feedback only for those who leave feedback for me. That TOO was met with snarky comments about how they will only leave feedback for sellers who leave feedback for them.
What I determined was ebay is full of selfish jerks who don't care if the feedback they leave helps you out as a seller. So, I decided that I wasn't going to say anything, ask anything, and I was just going to continue to leave feedback when I receive payment and when I receive an item. I think it's ridiculous that people can't take 2 minutes per item (includes time to log into ebay, etc.) to do the right thing. Thankfully, all TCDB members who have ever purchased from me have left feedback - no exceptions. That's nice!

I also count it up as laziness on the other parties part. Because, you know, it is soooo difficult to type in a GOOD SELLER! comment and hit a positive mark. Oh man, I'm just tired typing this!

I avoid any transactions on Ebay as much as possible as it has become the new Craigslist and not worth dealing with people as everyone has stated.
