It goes a bit outside baseball, but one unofficial group I have is multisport stars. You can go for the obvious ones who were stars in one or both (Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders etc.) a few who were stars in one and nobody's in another (Tom Glavine and Kirk McCaskill were both drafted in the NHL but never played), or the ones who were never big in either sport (the previously mention Ryan Minor in baseball and basketball, another Oriole Mark Hendrickson also baseball and basketball. Josh Booty who had a very limited major league career after doing nothing in football, or the other way around, Drew Henson, who is not doing much in football after being a flop in baseball).

I remember Turk
Wendell. All
through high school
I ate licorice and
hopped the foul
lines because of
him. I never
pitched, but I
still liked the guy.

There was Gene
Conley who played
NBA and MLB, not
sure if he had a
card in both sports.

Yes, Lindros has that card in 1990 Score baseball, but he was never drafted in baseball. He took batting practice and Score was there to take pictures since they had exclusive rights to Lindros cards at this point in his career.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

For players with
rules named after
them. Pete
Incaviglia. He's
the reason players
drafted by an mlb
team need to stay
on that team for
one year before
they can be traded

Chuck Connors also played for the Celtics.
Moe Berg was also a spy for the US military during his tour of Japan just before world war 2.

How about family
connections?
Fathers & Sons,
cousins, uncles &
nephews, you could
build a nice
collection of them
I'm sure.
Some even go multi-
sport. Current NY
Knick Shane Larkin
is the son of Barry
Larkin, for
example.
Eventually I plan
to create a List on
here spotlighting
family connections
in racing and
basketball. NASCAR
cards even have a
couple of mothers,
wives and sisters
included.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
