Armando Gallaraga still has a chance I guess to be known for pitching a perfect game that wasn't.

Tom Gamboa I don't remember if he was ever a player, but he was the Royals first base coach who was attacked by the fans in Chicago during a game.  He has a few cards out.

I remember Mark Whiten most for hitting 4 HR's in one game (I know others have done it too though).

Fernando Tatis is most likely remembered for hitting 2 grand slams in one inning.

Brien Taylor is remembered for being one of the best that never was.  Man the hype he got.

I assume this is just baseball, you could do other sports too like Fred Dryer and Bubba Smith more famous for acting than football.  The list goes on, but that's just off the top of my head.

How about players who had a rule created because of them? I don't know enough about baseball to provide an example, but in the NBA they created the shot clock pretty much solely because of Wilt Chamberlain.

Johnny Berardino eventually became much more famous to soap opera fans as John Beradino.

 Again, thanks everyone. That was truly fun. In the end, I either had most of the players suggested, or it was a tad too obscure or something. But I have decided I need some Bob Ueckers, as he is completely missing from my collection. Off I go.

Dave DeBusschere - Baseball Topps 1963, 1964, 1965, famous as a Basketball HOF.  Question should the RC designation be 1963 Topps baseball?   

  How about Manager Frank Lucchesi  who in 1977 was jumped by his own player, Lenny Randle, and had to be hospitalized.

 Rhett Warrener from 2004 playoffs.  calgary flames.  he took out Steve Yzerman.

Tie Domi's suckerpunch made the grade too.
