When did UD change their boxes to being from 24 packs with 8 cards in each pack to 12 packs of 12 cards, giving us approx 50 less cards per box while jumping the price over $50 compared to every other hobby pack I've bought in recent years?

Upper Deck didn't cause (most of) the price increase. They claim they increased the wholesale price by 5 percent. The majority of the price increase is distributors and hobby shops smelling blood in the Bedard search frenzy and trying to profit off it.
