all it takes is the other party to respond in a message saying yes they are interested. Then i look for the cards and respond with if any are missing. Which happens to all of us. We rely on the process here, but it hiccups and cards don't get moved sometimes.
Or we miss place them, etc.

I like the idea but with me being away from home (alot) i mark the trade as shipped so i dont keep coming back to that trade. a tag Ready For Shipping would be great but not make it mandatory then mark the trade as actual shipped when i ship them out.
I just do the best i can and move on changing something just for me. Seems selfish
so in the notes if i have to adjust because a prior trade was confirmed with the same card i just let them know and counter offer

What appears to me to be the issue here is: One member made an offer and the other accepted it. At that point one or both can not find a card(s). There is no easy way to make corrections and if it is a large trade no one wants to start over again. Normally Communcations takes care of it but it does causes issues for some members.
I would say the easiest way is to have a feature that would allow the transaction to be changed at this point in time. A Change button that both traders would have to click on and then the changes would be made and then both traders would accept it again.
I can do a new feature request for that idea if we can agree it is the way to go.

I don't feel we need any more steps in the transaction process. I do feel that sometimes folks rely totally on the automated system and forget about personal responsibility.
I feel as the "proposer", it's my responsibility to make sure the cards I offer in the proposal are available, BEFORE I make the proposal! I also feel that as the "accepter" of a proposal, it's my responsibility to make sure the cards being requested are available, BEFORE I accept the proposal! I know most folks trust the "system" here, but I've had more than a few cards missing and I've had many cards stay "in transit" or "in transaction" long after the transaction was completed. I am responsible for my side of any transactions that I propose or accept, not the system. When I send a proposal, I never pull any cards until the transaction is accepted. As stated above, I make sure I have them. I do pull the cards prior to accepting a proposal, because I'm the one finalizing the proposal.
I'm old school, I don't always use the system. I do check for matches when I start a new set. I tend to go through my trade partners wantlist to see what player or set I can help them the most with, I love killing sets. I don't mind spending the time to help them finish sets or team sets, because they are helping me finish my sets.

Ron, your process is basically exactly what I do too, most times there’s a misunderstanding of what I’m trying to communicate and I haven’t gotten burned yet-but at some point I will. I’d like to see an option for confirm as well.

The feedback that I have gotten is: No need for a feature.
So I do not plan on making a request.

I think I plan to do more trades of the "here's what I want, make it fair by adding what you want" type of trades. That way at least I know they are interested in trading before pulling stuff. It's one thing to put back one or two cards. It's another to put back 20 or 30 from various sets.

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

I like the "Ready to Ship" idea, because sometimes I'll get cards pulled and ready to go with all good intentions of dropping by the post office, but life gets in the way. That would be a nice step before clicking sent once the cards are actually in the mail.

I really liked budler's idea of a change button. This would not add another step to the transaction process unless it was needed (because someone made a mistake which will inevitably happen at some point). It seemed like a really nice and simple solution to the problem.

I can see the benefit, but i am concerned that we muddy the waters a bit. If the Confirm status is used, we would have to allow the Counter status as well. I know that I personally TRY and verify things like VARs and older cards, but even my current trade with SFC Temple, thought I had a missing card. One that I KNEW I had. I think the importance is communication, and just worried another option may cloud up a pretty straight forward procedure.
