I joined at the beginning of March at the suggestion of a local collector that I connected with on ebay. For the most part, I stop my collection at 2000, so I think there are not quite an abundance of traders for me, I did make an initial trade and in conversations to make other trades on early 90s cards. In addition to standard issues, I will have a large inventory of Upper Deck sheets, Police sets and other regionals listed. Just need to have the time to make them available.

New as of January. I will echo abothebear's comment about the benefits of the trade matching tool, making it worth the work of logging my traders. Not sure which is more enjoyable, launching a (hopefully balanced) proposal, or receiving one. Logging one's own collection is fine, but trading (and, necessarily, being brought into contact with likeminded partners) is what makes this a marketplace and not just a museum.

Hello everyone. I am new to TCDB and in the process of starting to list cards of my collection. It has been a slightly tedious process getting going so I would love any tips to streamline the card listing process. I was a collector as a kid and through college, but had gotten away from it for a while but am now getting back into it with my son.
I have a couple of players I collect with my main player being Ryne Sandberg. I probably have close to 1000 Sandbergs and those are the ones I am starting to list but is taking a while. I am a Rays and a Braves fan also. I am currently looking to add to my collection of some early Rays players in Jared Sandberg and Rocco Baldelli.
I have some players I have collected in the past that I have available for trade that I will work on listing. I have over 100 different Nomar Garciaparra cards as well as about 50 Kerry Wood. Also have a wide range of cards of all sports that I have some for sale on ebay and others I would love to trade with. Any tips on how to navigate this site well to get the most of it would be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to getting more involved in the future!
Thanks!

Inputting lots of cards, in my experience, is tedious no matter what. Helps if you have them sorted by set. If you have a lot of a specific player from many sets, search the player and then use the “filter” to search by card #. Doing it in small chunks can help.
If you end up with duplicate Baldelli’s let me know!

I guess I'm not new but I don't do a ton of social things on here, I've commented on some things and answered a few questions but mostly I have spent all my time entering every single card I have in my collection. Over 17,000 now....and my wife says "You actually brag about that?" 🥴
Anyway, I am approximately 2,500-3,500 cards away from actually entering every single thing I have if it's in this DataBase. Once I have completed that process I will then begin to work on getting a scanner to begin learning how to add images that are missing, in addition to also submitting price approvals from ebay searches for cards without pricing As I learn these processes I will then begin to implement trading/selling/buying on this platform as I am very happy with this site and the way the members interact and handle the content Obviously the biggest part of what makes that work is the contribution to it all and I want to begin to help move that forward soon. I pay a small members donation because of my lack of contribution, but not because of the adds because those weren't really an issue haha. I feel that anything given in some form is useful and gives pride in this 'self' ran site. I look forward to meeting other collectors and making honest trades and sales and buys.
Thanks to all the collectors out there!

I think I fall under this category. Kinda new, but I have what I need down, down. But instead, I have 70,000 more to go....

I've officially been on this sight for a year and a day! After lurking for about a month, reading forums and using the checklists to find holes in my collection, I signed up. I spent the first month uploading nearly 40,000 thousand cards, including traders just in case someone would want to trade with me........Nearly 200 trades later, joing TCDB has been one of the best things for this collector! If I could humbly offer a little advice that has served me well. Be patient- life does get in the way so not everyone will get back to a proposal quickly. Don't be afraid to reach out to someone who has failed to respond previously. Sometimes the second or third time is the charm! Be honest, describe your cards as accurately as possible, especially the vintage stuff. No one expects you to be a professional grader, but I believe honesty should be expected. Be courteous, acknowledge proposals even if its just to let them know it will be a couple of days before you can get to it. The golden rule will truly serve you well in your dealings. And finally, have fun! This hobby is what we escape to. It should not be a burden or a source of worry. Enjoy the process (sorry Sixers fans) and the company of your fellow collectors! So welcome to the newest members!

Thanks for sending the cards. That was so nice of you. You also sent two of each. I gave the extras to my son who also said thanks :) Such Awesomeness

I see I have some Michigan State cards from your want list. Send me an address and I'll get them out to you. I have (conservatively) a billion of both.
