Hey everyone :) so I've been trading here for about 2 months now and have done great deals with a lot of great people. I now have a situation I'm curious how more of you vets would handle. On April 22 I got a trade offer and accepted, I let them know I'd get mailed out on the upcoming weekend. Which I did with tracking as it was a large trade. The trader has 100% feedback with 36 feedback comments.
After a week their end was just at accepted still. So I figured maybe they just hadn't changed it, because they are the one that sent the offer they must have time to ship right? So on April 29 I messaged them asking for an update on the trade, I received a reply that they couldn't locate one of the cards and could probably ship early next week. I sent a reply ok no biggie on the one card but I do wish there was more communication, such as the trade offer should of had a message attached saying the earliest they could ship is 10+ days.
I really am trying to give everyone the benefit of doubt here especially during this pandemic. People could suddenly become ill or anything can happen especially right now. But it just seems this trader is not very interested in communicating with me what's going on. They've received their cards. They haven't even shipped mine, nor do I know when they will.
So I guess my question is; what would you do? I really don't want to blast someone that may be a great trader but I also don't feel this was a very fair trade offer to send me and then make me wait weeks just for the cards to ship. Unless the trade offer informed me there would be a delay on shipping, or even a message prior to me having to message after a week..
Thoughts??

Said this on many threads... Communicate people. Just communicate. Give people the info they deserve.

Another way to help avoid this situation: make sure both parties have pulled all cards before the trade is accepted by either party. And then talk about shipping dates before mailing them, as well. For every transaction proposal I receive, there is also a line of PM's to go with it. You can say much more in a PM than in a transaction message.

The only thing you can do now is wait.
The person said the cards would ship ealry next week and it's not early next week yet.
I agree with Spaz though. People should confirm they have the cards before including them in trades.

I have had very similar situations twice. Both times, the other trader had the cards in hand before ever shipping. When one individual finally communicated, shockingly all of the better cards he had promised were no longer available. I finally did get my cards in both trades but one was the worst trade I ever had and left me bitter. The other, I simply won't trade with again.
You will most likely get your cards eventually. If not, the don't hesitate to call him out and warn others of the person's poor trade practices. Once you get the cards, mark him as a "No Trade" member. Negative feedback is your option; many hesitate if they get the cards because of retaliatory feedback.

You got my interest now Bruno. How do you mark someone as "no trade" on the site cause I have had this happen and try to just remember.

I don't know of any way to mark that on the site . I suspect Bruno was referring to making your own "no trade list"... Just my opinion though.

Yup, my own list. Fortunately few but there are some who think they are the ones who have to be served. I wish there was a way to block individuals; this was asked previously, it may even be in the New Functions list.

Communication is always key. I have one trade right now that I was hoping to get out this past friday but wasnt able to. I messaged the member to let them know that they will go out on tuesday because I would be working nights. I will probably receive the cards he sent tomorrow since he sent on friday. I have had one member not send his part of trade until he received mine even though he said he had sent. I understand things happen but to wait purposely, which I feel he did, only because the one I sent got lost and took 3 weeks to get to him. I did get mine eventually not what I expected to get but did get them. Unfortunately that is a chance we take doing trades through the mail. Other than that one instance every other trade has went smooth with communication. I love trading brings me back to my youth
