Trivia

  • Last set to contain Kansas City Athletics cards.
  • Wax packs were $0.05 for 5 cards.
  • Features the rookie cards of Hall of Famers Tom Seaver and Rod Carew.

Set expanded from 600 cards to 609.

Facsimile signatures appeared on card fronts for the first time since 1959.

Redesigned checklist cards featuring a floating players head on the front.
  • This is the first regular-issue Topps set since 1953 to feature a vertical format on backs.
  • Only the first series of cards had no dot between the player's name and position on the front.
  • The 1967 Topps baseball card set's high numbers series begins at card #534 and ends at #609. The set also includes semi-high numbers from #458–533
  • #5 Whitey Ford - UER: 1953 New York stat line misprinted as "1933"

My father got into collecting when this set came out as it was during the Red Sox run to the World Series. When he moved out of his childhood home my grandmother threw away the roll top desk he stored them in along with all of his contents. I have always thought these were beautiful due to their simplicity. I would love to complete this set for him to enjoy before he is too to do so.

I collected this entire set as 14 year old, the only one during my youth. I loved the design and still do, as I have restarted my card hobby some 55 years later, but only with my favorite team, the Pittsburgh Pirates. I gave my 1967 collection away.

Also, my first pack that I ever opened. My uncle who was also into baseball cards bought two whole boxes, one for each of us and we sat there and ripped Series 1 packs & I was hooked for life. It became a bit of a tradition for us at around Eastertime every year when the new season's cards would come out.
