- The cards marked "SP" are common in boxes marked "Inaugural Edition" and do not appear in boxes marked "Series 2". Cards up to #300 not marked "SP" appear in both boxes. Cards #301 and beyond only appear in "Series 2" boxes.
- There have been reports of Skybox logo variations for #91 Dennis Rodman (right instead of left) and #224 Kevin Johnson (top instead of bottom), but only the prototypes of those cards differ from the regular set. There are no base set variations.

It’s safe to argue this sets’ design revolutionized the graphic elements of sports cards today. Gone were photos that took up all of a fronts’ real estate. In its’ place were geometric patterns, a variety of vibrant colors, and a gold border which brought everything together. Skybox deserves an “A” for effort, and the amount of stars showcased makes this release a leader for its’ time. | ||
This set was really cool when it came out, and although not a highly sought after set, I like the simplicity of the design. Especially on the back. Rating: 8 | ||
1st packs I ever opened. Remember that day like it happened last week! I pulled a Kemp rookie and thought I hit the lottery. I was hooked - LOL | ||
