On the back of this card, in the bottom-left corner (under "Mississippi"), there is a small letter with an asterisk next to it. For this scan, the letter is C. I read in a Beckett catalog that every card in the 1986 Topps football set was cut from sheets where there were two possible positions for each given card within the sheets. The letters are meant to indicate the position of that card within the larger sheet prior to it having been cut. In this case, the Rice card should have two different letter variations available. Does anyone know the other letter, besides C, which is available? Thanks!! :-) |
