Card back states 49ers were "Div. & World Champ in 1957": they were neither. Detroit won both the West division and championship.

Card also misleadingly states "The 49ers first had to beat the favored Lions in playoff..." (etc.)

They were tied with Detroit at the end of the regular season at 8-4, but lost the playoff game to the Lions (and thus the division.) Detroit defeated Cleveland for the 1957 title.

According to Beckett the photo on the 1958 Topps #64 of R. C. Owens is that of Green Bay Packer offensive lineman #78, Norm Masters and the uniform shown is that of the Packers. Some say photo is of Don Owens but his jersey numbers were 70 and 72 and the only cards printed for him were 1959 and 1963 in Eagles and Cardinals uniforms respectively. Some say it is Bobby Cross but the uniform is wrong for the teams he played for and the only card printed for him was 1952 Bowman when he played for the Bears.
