• Cello packs were $0.69 for 31 cards.
• Rack packs contained 48 cards plus 1 All-Star Game Commemorative insert card (Glossy All-Star).
• Jumbo packs contained 100 cards plus 1 Special Rookie insert card (Glossy Rookie).
• This was the first time Topps used the Topps All Star Rookie cups on the card fronts since 1978.
• Topps brought back it's famous Rookie Gold Cup trophy for the first time since 1978.
• For the first time since 1972, there were no player positions listed on the front of the cards.
• The big rookies in this set are Barry Bonds and Barry Larkin. Other notable rookies include: Bo Jackson, Will Clark, Rafael Palmeiro, Bobby Thigpen, Wally Joyner, John Kruk, Devon White, Bobby Bonilla, BJ Surhoff, Mike Greenwell, Ruben Sierra, Doug Drabek, Chuck Finley & Kevin Mitchell. Note: This is the first card of Mark McGwire as an MLB Player but is not considered his rookie card (1985 Topps Olympic Team USA Card).
• #108 Jim Gantner - The image of Jim Gantner on card #108 is reversed and was never corrected.
• #123 John Kruk - UER: 1st line should read "John attended Allegany..."
