I started collecting back in the 1960s when I had an uncle playing in the majors. (That's him to the left.) I had a decent amount of stuff from those years, and decided to move it along to other collectors. Most of that is gone now.
BUT, somewhere along the line I caught the bug. I started picking up cards from garage sales, and realized how fun it was to trade with all of you! I'm holding about 8 times as many cards as when I joined TCDB. I'm still trying to move more than half of that, focusing on just a few baseball sets.
What I'm trying to collect:
- Any cards with my uncle Dwight Siebler (Minn Twins, mid-60s, don't mind duplicates),
- Any NHL cards with Inge Hammarstrom, supposedly a cousin of mine,
- Topps baseball 1987 (complete), 1992, 1999, 2023, 2024, 2025.
- Fleer baseball 1992,
Note on Card Conditions:
I don't feel competent judging the condition of the higher level cards, so the highest I rate them is EX. Hopefully those I've labeled as EX will be at least EX, and I'm sure some of them could be considered higher than that. But anything in my EX category could have a non-sharp corner. If it has two obvious things wrong (two non-sharp corners, or scratches, etc.) I will have marked it even lower. Anything with a crease clear across is at best Good, but probably Fair.
Also, I'm not terribly worried about getting cards that are not Mint.
Note on Card Variations, such as with Fleer 1992 baseball:
I take good care that the variations are listed correctly on my FST list. But I don't generally collect multiple variations, so I am not concerned about which one you send me.
On making trade offers:
If I don't hear anything back within a week, I'll probably withdraw the trade so I can get those cards back in the rotation.
