Started collected when I bought some cello packs of 1978 Topps at the Schultz Brothers variety store on Main Street in Waukesha. Have been collecting ever since........
Depending on the time of the era, I have collected:
- Complete sets of all major manufactures including Topps, Fleer, Donruss, Score and UD (Still collect Topps base sets).
- Sub sets and insert sets (My favorite sets are the 83 Donruss Action All Stars, 81-83 Drakes, Perma Graphic Credit Cards and 1984 Topps 5x7)
- Regional sets and Brewer police Sets. (At one time had almost a full run of sets from 82-88/89 Brewer police sets)
- Anything related to 78-83 Brewers.......including building complete runs of cards each player on the 82 Team (only doing the HOFers where cards picture them in a Brewer uniform)
- Robin Yount Cards: Was super aggressive through 2004, then it just became too much to try and keep up.
- Autographed baseballs and 8x10 photos, especially HOFers and Brewers.
- HOF Yellow Plaques and Perez Steele cards.
- Autographed Brewer cards, especially Topps base issues
- 5x7 Team issued photos or photo cards given to the press or at team events such as On Deck, Autograph Fridays, etc.
- Brewer Bobbleheads
I am a completionist, which has helped me build a nice collection, but drives me crazy at the same time!
Back in the 80s I set up at shows. I also promoted shows from 1988-1995 under the name Hall of Fame Card Shows (HOFCS). I still actively conduct private signings with former players, especially Brewers.
Far more interested in thinning my collection than adding to it at this point in life.......
My Most Wanted Items:
- 2000 Fleer Robin Yount "3000" card SN #25. Been looking for it since 2000. (I don't believe it actually exists)
- Autographed Topps Cards: Jeffrey Hammonds (01TT), Julio Machado (92T), Hideo Nomo (2000 T), KROD (Both Topps AS cards), Billy Spiers (90T)
- Opportunity to get Pete Vuckovich and Bob Uecker to some select items from my collection.
