I collected big time back during the Junk Wax Era of the late 1980's/early 1990's.  I began collecting sporadically, if you want to call it that, again in '06/'07 when Topps came out with their Allen & Ginter sets.  I collected Mark McGwire & Nolan Ryan as my favorite players when I was young.  

Now, I really am focused on completing 2 sets...   2022 Topps Allen & Ginter (As close to a master set as possible) &  2023 Topps Heritage (Just base set & SP's, no inserts or subsets.)

My son has started to collect, as well and is trying to complete the 2024 Topps Allen & Ginter base set.  His favorite players are Wyatt Langford & Nolan Ryan.
