Collecting just about everything right now. I started collecting baseball cards in 1962. Unfortunately, I stopped collecting in 1966 and gave away all my cards for a promise of comic books I never got. I am particularly interested in the Pirates from the early 60's. I got to see a few of them close up when they visited my hometown in western PA back around 1963. Ever hear of Clemente, Mazeroski, Clendennon, Virdon or Stargell? A few months ago I decided to start collecting again after nearly 60 years. I AM NOT INTERESTED in selling, only trading, although I may consider buying. When buying, I usually will consider offers of 500 cards or more and generally only pay no more than ($1.00/cards before 1970, $0.25/cards 1970-1979, $0.05/cards 1980+) and shipping. These prices are for cards in good shape. Older, damaged cards I will pay less for. Of course I will entertain offers for the higher value cards. NOTE: Since my cards come from many different sources, their condition varies. If I have more than one copy of a card available, I will send you the card in the best condition. If you are not happy with the condition of any cards I send, please contact me so we can work out a solution acceptable to you. I ask that if you propose a trade or sell, that you do not wait for my cards or check to be delivered before you ship your cards. Trust is a two-way street. I am in this because I enjoy it, not to make money or rip-off people. I do not collect basketball or hockey cards so I will only trade those cards for baseball or football cards.
After 18 months of collecting and hundreds of transactions, these are things that I have learned.
I may not accept offers where a member offers me a bunch of low value cards for a high value card. You want a $5 card I have, then offer a card of equivalent value.
There are a lot of cards out there of hall-of-famers, but many are not worth more than the average for that set. Please do not try to pass them off as more valuable.
I usually pull the cards a person wants/needs before accepting or proposing a transaction. If you make an offer and I can't find a card(s), I will let you know and remove them in a counter. Forgetting to manually make corrections to the database introduces errors.
I do want to mention that recently I have been interested in collecting smaller sets such as food and department store issues as well as inserts such as MVP, All-Stars, puzzles and stickers of various brands from the 1980's and 1990's.
The Bo Jackson card, 1986 Topps Traded 50T, I have available is reserved to trade for a Clemente or Mazeroski card from a year they played. I would consider making up the difference in value.
