I can’t tell you how many old MTG and Pokémon cards I’ve sold that I wish I still had. No exaggeration when I say it’s easily several thousand dollars in value between what I sold them for and what they go for now.

A year or two ago I decided I wanted to sell my cards and for some reason started with the stuff I was most into (Detroit Tigers autos, 1958 Topps baseball, low sn wrestling). A couple months later when I realized I didn't want to sell I was left with a pretty big hole in my collection. It happens, live and learn.

Sold my MtG cards for college tuition, this was before prices exploded. A few of those cards are worth 1k now. Sold an Ichiro 2001 SPX when I pulled it. Money was good but I do miss that card now. Traded a Mike Trout 2009 BC Autograph. Got a bunch of cards, but some of those cards are worth almost nothing now.

My entire first collection. Sold off my large collection I had back in 2001. Thought I was done collecting forever. Come 2017, well...

This "Poll of the Day" kind of hits home for me right now as I don't want to have the regret of selling off a card that has a little more sentimental value to it. The last Christmas I was able to celebrate with my dad before his passing he gave my sister and I money in an envelope and said, go buy what you want. I used this to obtain a 1955 Topps Clemente Rookie. It was the last big card that I needed for my 55 set. I have considered selling this set several times, and have several people that want to buy it, but this one card has kept me from moving forward. I may very well buy another Clemente and then put that in the set and keep the one I purchased with the funds my dad gave me.

I have sold my old card collection, my old comic book collection and my old Magic card collection. I don't think they were worth a lot, but if there were a few gems in there that I missed, I don't regret it. I am glad to have the space in my house for other things. Some day I'll probably have a reckoning and move on from my Red Sox collection in the same way... it's all fun while it lasts to me.

Sold off an Action Packed 24ct Gold card of Dale Earnhardt, don't regret it, know it went to a big fan of his even 15 years after his death..... More of a set collector and know I would never come close to getting 1/2 of the set....

In 1987 I decided i needed to keep either my baseball cards or my comics. I kept the comics. I had complete sets of Topps from 1970 to 1987. Almost complete sets of 1967-1969. Also complete sets of all the Donruss, Fleer and Upper Deck cards up to 1987. I also had a Cubs collection that went back to the tobacco age. (I miss these the most! Now I can't afford them.) In 1992 my son was born and I decided to put together sets for his birth year. I have been collection sporadically since. TCDB has really helped me fill in some cards by trading. Love it!
