I'm not into Pokemon, but I have a pile of those first cards in my attic, just haven't gotten around to getting them out yet.  Which ones are the most $$$?

Ummm getting them out to grade if they are some of the big ones and in good shape might be in your favor. Check eBay for sold prices.

Fun story about these cards from when I was younger, this would've been around the time the Team Rocket set came out (which I believe was still 1st gen, maybe the..4th set they put out?).

Me and 3 of my friends were wandering around town and found this garage sale run by an old lady who used to have a younger grandson (maybe 8 or 9 years old) to come to stay with her from time to time. Grandson was not present, and lady was selling off a bunch of stuff presumably including some of his toys from when he'd visit. We were all huge into these cards at the time and saw a binder on one of her tables. Sure enough, opened it up and it's chock-full of base set 1/Jungle/Fossil holos, rare cards, etc. (for reference, this would've been around 1998 or 99, Charizard from Gen 1 was probably selling for about $150 US-ish, This was one of those 2" binders with at least 27-36 holos alone if I recall correctly, including *all* of the really good/rare ones you'd want).

Friend says to the lady "Hey, how much are these?"
Lady says "2 dollars".
Friend says "2 dollars a card?"
Lady says "2 dollars for the album".

I guarantee you've never seen 4 kids run home for 2 dollars faster in your entire life. Friend won the footrace and ended up flipping all of the cards on eBay within 6 months - amazing how that was such a crazy find at the time but still nothing compared to the return if he had held onto them.

As much as I get it for the sake of accuracy, it's kinda hard to take anything away from this poll besides "4/5 TCDB users aren't Pokémon fans".
