Do the cards chosen represent the game MVP?

So far, yes. I'm waiting for a Chuck Howley moment ala Super Bowl V.

Has the World Series ever had a Chuck Howley-type MVP? Usually, baseball MVP is for pitching or hitting. 

It would have to be someone who does spectacular things to keep the losing team in the series and the winning team have no one who truly stands out.

I was thinking more along the line of an MVP for fielding instead of pitching or batting.

Honestly, without a system to track defensive stats I'd have to improvise calling games and add that element to it, but doing it live is much harder than I imagined. 

Spahn pitching against himself? He gets my vote for tournament MVP.

He'll certainly have more wins, Ks, etc.
