1966 Topps Batman Series B (Blue Bat Logo, Puzzle Back) Non-Sport Forum

'66 Topps Batman Blue Bat was released in two variations ofter refered to as "Puzzle Backs" and "Blue Backs". Currently only one of the sets(variations) is listed on TCDB.  I would like to do the following:

1. Rename the set listed on TCDB to: "1966 Topps Batman B Series Blue Bat (Puzzle Backs)". This is the commonly accepted set name.
2. Add another set titled "1966 Topps Batman B Series Blue Bat (Blue Bat Backs)"
3. Change card #s to reflect what is actually on the cards. Cards are listed as "1", "2", "3" on the current checklist but the cards actually read "1B", "2B", "3B",.....etc.
4. Move "Blue Bat Back" images from the "Puzzle Back" checklist to the new "Blue Bat Back" checklist. There is some mixing of the cards in the current checklist.

Sounds like a valid reason for separate sets.

Questions: Would you set these up as completely separate releases or would the blue bats be a parallel to the puzzle-backs?

Because of collection info, were you planning on contacting all members who currently have these listed in their collections (be it collection, want list, or FS/FT list)?

That sounds like the proper course of action to me as well. 

I would like to go the seperate set route. I know we could argue parallel set, but I think most vintage non-sport enthusiasts view this as two separate issues (early print runs for the puzzle backs, late print runs for blue bat backs).

I will reach out to all the collectors that have effected cards in their collection.

It should be an easy transition. There is only one card image in the current listing that is a "Blue Bat Back" variation so there wouldn't be any change to the current set listing other than to change the title of the set.
