The 1986 McDonalds Football cards are similar to the concept of the 1950s Red Man Tobacco baseball cards from 1952-55. The cards came with 'tabs" on the bottom that could be cut off to claim prizes (like a felt baseball cap). Of course they are more commonly found without the tabs and the scans for the cards here have them without the tabs but the ones with the tabs can still be found. The only mention I see about the tabs seems to be in the "trviia" section for the sets and it mentions the "tabbed" versions are more desirable and thus can be slightly higher in price.

Although I only havve a handful of these cards (5 or 6 maybe) all but one of my copies have the tabs.
As for the McDonalds football cards I have several (the redskins team and the All-Stars set) with tabs. I think tor the Redskins I have each of the color variants, not 100% sure on that though.
I collect: Baseball, Football, Hockey, Mostly Vintage pre1980, My Homie teams - Washington/Baltimore Teams Senators (Twins, Rangers), Expos/Nationals, Redskins, Capitals, Bullets/Wizards - HOFers - Non-sport (mostly TV shows and movies).
My Trade List is very much a work in progress
