2005 Topps Total Football Forum

Looking at the 2005 Topps Total team checklists, I am wondering if they're for dedicated team sets issued by Topps rather than part of the main set.  I know that Topps has, at times, issued team sets with the same card design, but numbered as a small set rather than as part of the base set.  The card numbers referenced on the checklists seem to refer to one of these dedicated team sets since they are "CLE1, CLE2, etc." rather than corresponding to the numbers from the base set.

If I remember correctly, Topps Total cards used to have two numbers: a full number (623 or whatever) that was the card number in the set, and a team number like you're describing (CLE1) for the team sets. So essentially all cards had two numbers on them.

yes the ones in my redskins collection show the same way- check list notes was1 through whatever, but each card has a number above the was related number
