Hi everyone. I'm a big Rush fan as well as a baseball card collector. I was scrolling on the r/baseballcards subreddit on...well, Reddit...and a guy had posted a 2024 Topps Series 1 Vladimir Guerrero card with Geddy Lee of Rush at the bottom throwing out a first pitch. Vladdy's picture on the card is the same as his base card (other than the addition of Geddy), not his Golden Mirror SSP picture. I searched the list of all of Vladdy's 2024 Topps Series 1 cards on here, and nothing like this appears. I'm assuming/hoping this is similar to the Kevin Hart Variations on Phillies cards, which according to what I can find online are limited to 52 copies per card. If I'm correct, the Hart cards weren't announced by Topps either, but there is an article about them on Beckett.com. Maybe Geddy Lee is going to be on more Blue Jays cards, maybe other celebs are going to be on variations for other teams, etc. Does anyone know anything else or if there is any more definitive information about these surprise variations, or are they just that--surprises for collectors to find until there are more and more of them and definitive lists/photos can be posted on here? Thanks, and my apologies if this has already been discussed--I searched the forums and didn't find anything.

I'd be inclined to agree with you, if I hadn't seen the article about the Kevin Hart cards on Beckett.com. They look so similar, with the celeb in a very small picture at the bottom of the card. Hopefully, there are more examples of these as people rip more and more 2024 Series 1, or eventually Topps says something definitive.

Obviously, we all should wait until we hear more about these Blue Jays cards before adding anything to the database. If they did it for one team, or maybe 2 teams, who's to say they didn't do it for multiple teams (or even all of them?).

Absolutely. Maybe after the initial excitement (hopefully, more than just mine) dies down, Topps will release something official.

I grabbed a screenshot of the original picture posted on r/baseballcards, and one of the back that the OP posted after I asked him to. If it's not clear in my posts, I REALLY want this to be legitimate and to get my hands on one of these. If there are truly /2112 copies of this card, are there possibly auto variations as well? I may collapse!

GoldenEagle555, you're a great trader and a positive presence on this site, probably a sharp dresser and an excellent chef, but if you get between me and one of these cards I will clip a corner off every card you own (except this one) and zip tie your dog to a magnolia!
Just kidding, good luck to both of us!

Okay, that's one of the funniest things I've read in a long time.

I can't quite make out the code on the back of the card, but it definitely looks different than the code on the base card. Which means that either somebody went to the trouble to photoshop a fake code over the original code, found a code on a parallel I haven't had time to look for, or this actually is a legitimate unannounced SP. And considering Topps didn't explicitly announce their "first card" stamps, it definitely is not outside the realm of possibility.
